not allowed to do that at our sainsburys - they have to wait to the end of their shift before shopping'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

depends on store but i know that in my store when i worked at one, if things were reduced and wanted you could put it behind cs and then buy at end of shift.
Staff need some perks.
But i know in tesco last night all the reduced stuff was being rifled through by tesco staff .
A store does not have to sell you anything its all down to the managers discretion they could have taken all the food away priced it at a penny and put in the staff room and you would have been none the wiser .

We used to put things aside to buy at the end of the shift too. The staff are entitled to some perks really. Perhaps they shouldn't have "queue jumped" but eh.0

Curious... why are staff are entitled to perks ? what is it they entitled too.
Does everyone have a "perk" is it part of the job description, pay and conditions or some kind of reward scheme, ?
I thought shop assistants "perks" was a 10 or 15% staff discount, so when did ignoring customers and queue jumping become a Sainsburys perk.
I know a lot of things regarded as theft is often considered by people to be a perk of the job. But when did annoying the crap out of customers and me me me become a perk. Interesting...
And by the way my oh works for a supermarket chain, not Sainsburys and yes she gets 10% staff discount and has to join the queue like everyone else and in her own time. I feel isolated and marginalised now as I dont have a perk in my job ; (0 -

Most customers are incredibly rude to staff at supermarkets, and think they're superior. So annoying the crap out of a customer is quite often a perk - there's nothing quite like winding up a customer when so many wind you up!
I'd be very annoyed if a customer got first pick of something reduced before the staff if it happened at my work.0 -

so if u were in the staff's shoes and found out about the cut price fish, ud WAIT behind customers that no doubt hadnt been waiting longer than a minute or 2 or wait till the end of your shift?? which by then the fish would be gone or ud be finished after the fish counter had closed??
yea right sure u would.0 -
Why shouldn't they be entitled to buy cut price stuff just like anyone else ?
I think that's what the OP was getting at - it wasn't 'like everyone else' - as they got given priority.Make a list of important things to do today. At the top, put 'eat chocolate'. Now, you'll get at least one thing done today.
