Most soups can be frozen, best avoid ones with cream in though. There are lots of soup recipes on here already, if you look under the Grocery Challenge thread the first few posts have lists of recipes. There's a soup section on Post 6 and most of them are easy to make and freezeable. Also try looking for soup recipes using the search function for the Old Style forum, there's a guide here that explains how to use it as it can be a bit of a pain to get the hang of!

Please note - putting your question in the title of your post rather than your name may have got you replies a bit quicker. But welcome to the forum, you'll soon get the hang of it :)

  • Welcome  There are loads of recipes here, and I haven't yet found a soup recipe that doesn't freeze. One of us will merge this later to keep ideas together :)

    Hi vintagegirl,

    Welcome to Old Style.:)

These threads should help with soup and stew recipes (most of which can be easily adapted to the slow cooker):

    Soup recipes

    Just the weather for stew

And this thread should give you ideas for using your slow cooker:

Slow Cooker - The Recipe Collection

Also if you need to cut back on your grocery bill this thread may help too:

    September 2011 Grocery Challenge

In that thread you'll be able to chat to other likeminded people and get lots of help and support in cutting back your grocery bills. The new thread for October will be starting later this week and if you want to join you'll be made very welcome. :)

Good luck and one of us will merge your thread later.
