  • Another boots bargain
The advantage card machine is giving out a new voucher for evian skincare buy one get one free.
Now the evian range is reduced at the moment.I b ought a pack costing £7.49 but reduced to £5.99 (there are many different products) but when I got to the till and handed over the free one voucher the till deducted the full price of £7.49 which meant I was only charged £4.49. A cracking deal even the lady on the till thought so. I went i 3 times and ended up with £45 of products for £13.50 approx

  • Didn't reduce the chocolates in my store. Boohoo
But I have cleaned them out of the evening primrose shower cream

  • Home Bargains often have Evian Skincare in store at a fraction of the price (usuaully around £1.99 an item). I always pop in there b4 heading into Boots next door.

I found the products very harsh on my skin. I have tried the cleansing sheets, moisturiser and face wash.
  • Thought I would try the free no 7 bag offers when triple points on.So got myself 3 skincare gift sets and 3 bags laid them out in order at the till and the cashier promptly laid the bags aside and put through the gift packs first then the free bags but got them all anyway woohoo

  • went to my local store last night and as well as Evian stuff reduced, a lot of the botanics range was too; mostly half price - very good value particularly as they are 3 for 2 at the mo.
  • got a toilet bag, cleaner, toner and moisturiser all full size in home bargains a few weeks ago for 4.99

I got an advantage card voucher today for 200 points off "Cuticura bath" - (these items were mostly about £4.99) but I tried it and it worked on a purchase of "Cuticura anti-bacterial hand hygiene gel" which cost £1.23? - so a profit of 77p and a nice, handy gell cleaner for your hands when you can't get to wash them with soap & water!

Hope someone finds this useful info....
    Great find ! :snow_grin
I use this gel all the time as we have a separate loo with no handbasin.
It costs a fortune compared to soap, but my lot probably wouldn't bother to go to the bathroom to wash their hands if it wasn't provided.
I got three today and hope to get a few more unless they get wise and close the loophole! :xmassign:

be warned ifthe alcohol content in the gel is less than 60% you may not be killing offf as many germs as you think, healthcare strength gels tend to be between 60-70% alcohol these others tend to be about 40% so will kill off some germs but not all by any means.....back to the subject in hand ( so to speak) :snow_grin
  • I am a Boots newbie and this thread is so confusing!
Whenever I go into Boots, its always very busy (Barnsley store) and I wouldn't dare hold up the queue to haggle with the person on the till!

Also, how do you know how many points an item is worth? does it say it near the item or do you just find out later when you check your card?

I hate confrontations so can't imagine myself being assertive or arguing with the till lady if she didn't agree with me over the points or voucher value of something.
Where do you get all these double vouchers etc from?
I know its a lot of questions and I don't even have my official advantage card yet but please help a newbie out!
Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!
