A lot of companies request personal information as a deterrant to thieves (and a method of intimidation to deter such requests for refunds in some cases)but in many cases such requests are against the Data Protection Act.
Thanks Ben. I will give C/S a call tomorrow and ask them why they need this. I don't mind sending them a utility bill to prove my address. But the passport and license they suggest is too personal.
I was just wondering if anybody else has had to go through this?0 -
Hi
Just to say for anyone who is interested, I was in Boots, Braehead tonight and they have loads of Intuition Razors with the £3 off voucher attached.
I was a bit naughty and removed the vouchers before I got to the cashdesk and then used them to pay for the razors - total cash paid 28p + I got a £5 skincare voucher!

Anyway, my Intuition saga wasn't as successful. The shelf label said they were full price, but I got them anyway, thinking they should at least be BOGOF then. Got to the checkout and they were half price after all, but stupid me didn't have the BOGOF printout from the machine so did not make a fuss.
An unexpected bonus was that one of the Intuition packs had an extra voucher stuck to it for some reason! So not a wasted journey after all0 -
I got the Intuition razors today x 2 and the SA said that they were reduced AND bogof as I had the printout. I had loads of other stuff in my basket so I didnt check until later when I noticed that they had gone through reduced but not BOGOF. I did use one £3 voucher so I only paid £3.14 for 2 so still not bad. Also the Ruby & Millie sponges were back in at £2 each so bought 4 and got 1000 bonus points.
I had my mailing yesterday so I used the 1000 bonus points as I spent £20 on skincare and No.7 make-up (including £5 skin voucher) so really only cost was £10 for 2 x lipsticks and a pot of Time Delay moisturiser - not bad. I was so excited that I forgot to hand over my double points voucher also in my mailing - doh! I dont usually spend that much at once so an opportunity missed. I also got another couple of £5 voucher so I will keep going back!

A quick update. Though I would chance my arm and ring up the Customer Services line regarding the Intuition razors BOGOF situation. Very helpful lady said that basically as they were reduced to half price I did get them BOGOF. I agreed but stated that it doesnt state that if the item is reduced then it's not BOGOF - it should be BOGOF the shelf price even if reduced. She agreed and went off to check with supervisor and came back and offered to credit my Advantage Card with £6.29 worth of points!!! Result!!!! I only paid £3.14 anyway for the 2 lots of razors so I think I won that one. Worth the phone call me thinks!

Was in boots today and they had the sanctuary gift bags reduced to 26p each. There is a voucher for 100 extra points with 3 sanctuary products in the last boots magazine.Hence 3 bags 26p x3 = 78P Plus 100 POINTS too.:D
Not as good as the med bags but handy for christmass and making your purchase up to £5 for free voucher.0 -
