As I said the competition will be temporarily suspended till the issue with the number has been resolved, this will not affect the closing date.
If we decide to terminate the competition then a winner will be chosen at random from the current correct entries.
The terms can be found at https://www.text4supercars.com/terms.html0 -
When you advertise on your competition website:Every answer received provides a donation to our chosen charity.
Then surely it is of concern to all who enter the competition.
You say you are giving a percentage of the money raised. But what people would like to know is how much of every £3.50 it costs to enter is being passed to the charity. Particularly as it seems this is a charity event from your website.0 -
@quentin
I am really busy and it does seem only your interested and I have invited you to call me at home and discuss everything you would like to know over the phone.
As I have previously stated my donation to charity from the revenue from each text it completely my own business.0 -
Those ts + cs seem weighted heavily in your favour, and some of them seem downright unfair
eg:Nothing within these terms and conditions should be construed as creating any form of agreement between the entrant and the company. The company reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time, without notification; and any change will take immediate effect. The company reserves the right to cancel, change or amend any competition, for any reason, at anytime.
etc etc!0 -
They are the terms if people dont take the time to read them that is their issue not ours.
Maybe not every is as efficent as yourself.
I really have nothing else to say on this matter.0 -

Which really says it all !
Welcome to the seedy world of the Premium Rate Industry.
You have been warned.

There are plenty of cases where the short-code numbers are shared between several services, as these are cheaper and quicker for them to rent than acquiring dedicated permanent ones, of which the supply is more limited.
This is why people replying to many of the services on them are asked to use a prefix word at the start of the message, as a filter by the number provider will forward it on the particular service that the customer wants.
So attacking one company can be inaccurate and inappropriate, as we can see here. Contact the number provider, quoting the word prefix of their subscriber company, and make the complaint against them, not solicit people making personally abusive calls to the wrong person
What's more, there's no need to attack the whole range of services on these numbers, as people do actually want to use some of them. For example, I bought a chess game the other day, using a free Virgin SIM0 -

You seem quite happy to be using a charity to help promote your £3.50 a go competition, yet seemingly accept the ts + cs of the event are unfair. Unfair ts + cs are deemed by the courts as not being enforceable.
You refuse to say how much of the £3.50 actually goes to the charity.
Yet you proudly posted:I run a reputable business I dont need to hide anything
When collecting for charity surely you can see the nasty taste you leave by refusing to say how much of the £3.50 actually goes to the charity.
You say in the ts + cs you keep 50% of each £3.50 for yourself. Does the charity donation come out of your 50%?
These cars cost up to £150,000, depending on the model (your website doesn't actually say which model is the prize??).
So you could have to get around 85000 texts just to pay for it! Or more if the charity donation is substantial!
Why not clear up the nasty taste publicly.
If you can find the time to talk to me on the phone (and you have managed to find the time to browse other of the forums here today, despite being so busy), I'm sure you can find enough time to post the relevant answers on here.0 -
This is getting very out of hand, this isn't about a text competition it's about a text that hasn't come from 3.
I, like some other people, was daft enough to respond to that fake text on saturday night (I was on a night out in Blackpool and didn't want to be cut off) and I (sounds like as well as some others) also sent a harsh email to Dave, but it actually isn't his company that's behind the false text. I emailed him back today to apologise.
If you have been enough of a muppet to reply to the msg, just call 0906...
jokes, jokes. just go on http://ws.textanywhere.net/web/Home/ContactUs.aspx and give them a ring. I spoke to a very helpful girl who got someone to call me back, then they agreed to send me a cheque refund. Unfortunately, they weren't allowed to tell me the name of the company but meh!
So what if texts4supercars or whatever it is runs a competition for an aston, don't start saying "well his service is premium text-based too so it must be a scam". This is like saying, "well I've had lots of trouble with plumbers in the past, you're obviously a cowboy".
PS, why would any criminal fraudster be so stupid as to make it so easy to find out so much about them? PhonepayPlus will investigate it and it'l probz turn out to be some dodgey gang in a country far, far away from here and our jurisdiction.

No-one has said that.
But that text based "competition" (£3.50 a go) advertises as a way of donating to a worthwhile charity. The organiser refuses to disclose how much of the £3.50 actually goes to the charity.
And we eventually discover the "competition" has decidedly dodgy terms and conditions.
Why would anyone donate an unspecified amount to charity via a competition that says:The company reserves the right to cancel, change or amend any competition, for any reason, at anytime.
It is off topic, but deserves some publicity to save anyone forking out £3.50 in the belief its for a good cause!
Much better to donate directly and give up on the outside possibility that anyone will win an aston martin!0
