I am fine with the thread I just object to my personal details being left on here when it has nothing to do with me. I would never want anyone to lose money through a scam like this and I will remove the bad language from my previous posts, as you can imagine this has not been a great weekend, being publically accused of ripping people of and having threatening phone calls when I have done nothing at all wrong.
@Davec21,
As someone who has been a victim of a scam from your fellow collegues of the PRS Industry I can't help but see the irony of your situation.
Your company as part of the PR industry has fallen foul to the same cowboys as those of us that has posted here and many other forums, you claim and seem to be the innocent party. Like many of us also whom have received unsolicited reverse bill texts over the past years you also claim you are a victim. Unlike you, we were told by the networks, Icstis/PP+, Ofcom and all the other bodies that there was nothing that they could do, we the victims were at fault and we must have have subscribed even though we knew 100% that we did not.
I am sorry that I cannot feel any compassion for your present problems, on behalf of my fellow victims of scams, it is a pleasure to see the PRS industry bite itself on its a***. I am sorry if you are an innocent victim, but then so were I and thousands of others.
Happy Easter. :T0 -

@davec21
just out of interest what is the closing date of this present competition text4supercars.com and where is it shown.0 -
@wantmemoney
All competitions shall run for 3 months unless 100% of entrants required are achieved before this period.
Look we run a legitimate competition, I have even changed are home page to warn people about this scam. I would not want anyone to lose money, so just because I run a text based competition please do not tar me with the same brush as other people in this industry0 -
From originally posting here that the "3 scam" text this thread is about is a "joke" and wanting the thread removed to changing your website so that it only warns visitors about the scam (and no longer promotes your "legitimate" £3.50 per entry competition is a quantum leap!!
You say that your £3.50 per text competition is legitimate. (Though knowing which actor plays james bond is hardly a competition - it seems more like a raffle, at £3.50 a ticket)
But how do entrants find out things like the closing date, or the 100% of required entrants has been achieved?
If the competition has been won, how do entrants get their money back?
How do entrants find out the ts + cs - you have a link on your website to ts + cs, but clicking on it just brings up:The requested URL /terms.html was not found on this server.0 -
@Quentin
It is not a raffle over 25% of the entries have been wrong
Currently the competition ran for 3 months and the number of entries required was not reached. When the competition comes to an end in 6 months we will dish out the prize (or alternative cash prize should the number of entries not be high enough).
I have looked into the terms.html issue and that should be resolved.
@Quentin
Buy all means call me and discuss this rather than sniping on forums.0 -
No-one sniping at you personally.
But any moneysavers entering your competition need to know that they have a more than 25% chance of completely wasting their £3.50 a go entrance money if they think that the actor currently playing 007 James Bond is either (A) Craig David or (C) Brosnan. That leaves option (B) Daniel Craig as a good way of investing each £3.50 to enter the competition.
And we now learn the prize is not guaranteed, the competition will now run for 6 months (not 3 as you originally, incorrectly and misleadingly posted earlier today) and the ts + cs have mysteriously disappeared from your website.
All good info for moneysavers, most would agree!0 -
The terms and condtions are on the URL they have always been on. With the current scam involving 81456 that has nothing do with us we have taken the decision to suspended the competition until we find out what is happening reagrding the number in question.
I am currently waiting for a call back from Text Anywhere to find out what they are doing about this issue and we will be publishing a press release once we know exactly what is happening.
As I said we are not trying to mis lead anyone here and will try and help where possible to resolve any greivances.0 -
I run a reputable business I dont need to hide anything.
Your website states that some of the £3.50 entry fee goes to charity (HemiHelp).
As you don't hide anything, please tell how much of the entry money goes to the charity (and how much you have passed on in the last 12 months)?0 -
we have taken the decision to suspended the competition
What does this mean for people who have managed to send in a correct entry?
When will you now close the competition?The terms and condtions are on the URL they have always been on.
As the ts + cs are not currently available via your website, perhaps you could give us the link to them on here?0 -
@Quentin
For your information my daughter suffers from Hemi Plegia which is a form of Cerebal Palsey and I chose that charity because it does a lot of good work with children who suffer from the same condition as her.
We are giving a percentage of the moneys raised to the charity and this is the first competition of its kind we have run.
What donation my company chooses to make to the charity is completly up to us and I dont see how that is any business of yours.0
