I still have a heap of Christmas decorations in the middle of my living room floor - and if they're still there on Saturday it'll be a month since I took them down.

To be fair the reason they are there is that they were heaped up on one end of my larger sofa until last night when I decided I needed the big sofa clear for lounging on...

I've just created a To Do list which has 27 domestic maintenance items on it held over from last year, several of which are outdoor items, so this cold weather has been an ideal opportunity to procrastinate a little longer!
  • Got a fridge and freezer full of food but still gonna get OH to take me for an early bird at the Harvester cos I can't be bothered to cook.

    How bad is that?????
  • How is it that I can make it from near Earth mother to absolute sloth in one easy move?
On one day I can do everything with so much ease that my OS halo could choke me, in one wave of a wand I can have the BM on the go, whip up flapjacks, load up the SC, batch cook a load of scones and a casserole, there wouldnt be one item of washing that needed doing and all the surfaces in the lounge would be dust free and gleaming.
HOWEVER, without warning I can turn to a Sloth who has no idea what OS is!! the washing basket can be overflowing (which happens overnight whilst Im asleep,) there is nothing to make a meal of, its faaaarrrr toooo much effort to press start on the BM and on these days I feel its less energy to jump in the car and drive 10 miles for a loaf of bread!!!! I shout up to the kids that if they dont want breakfast thats ok with me.......my split personality would never consider sending them off to school without something in their tummies. I could go on but might send myself into a spiral of depression.!

I wonder if this change is due to comments made by my OH.
    OH 'Whats for breakfast?'
    ME 'Porridge'
    OH 'euugggh'
    OH 'Not again!'
OH 'I guess Gruel will do!!'

    Give me strength!!

However, speak to me next week and I will of course be perfect, LOL

I totally empathise with you I am the exact same!

My girls dread my efficient times of the month and welcome my inept ones, I do think a lot of it is weather related as I am tidy most of the summer months and struggle in the winter ones, but then I want to sleep more in the winter ones lol

Sounds like me too. Some days I'm a whiz, others I just sit here and brows the lazynet.

It's like reading a bunch of cleaning/tidying tips makes me feel like I am actually doing something when in reality I haven't yet DONE those things so the house is still a mess :o

  • Being the thrify Old Styler I am, or pretend to be, I decided to make croutons with the end of the loaf I'd made. Popped them under the grill and promptly forgot them. I've never seen cajun (blackened) croutons before. I'd have tossed them out for the birds but that would be cruel and inhumane punishment. :rotfl:

I usually follow the flylady thread but have been AWOL most of this week.

On monday I got the kids to do the list, and the rest of the week no-one has done anything, the house is a tip, we have collections of crockery in various rooms around the house, the bathroom hasnt been cleaned in approx 3 weeks (sorry pigpen) and most days its been a real effort to get tea. Last night because I couldnt be bothered to do any tea, my other half sent our 9 year old out to the chippy and tonight he'll be home in less than half an hour and I havent even thought what to do  .

My son has also had to spend the afternoon washing and ironing clothes to pack for his skiing holiday tomorrow as I just really can be *rsed to do anything :o .

Please tell me I'm not the only one
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
