Got sent home early from work yesterday, so could have spent the time clearing all the rubbish that has invaded my bedroom since I decluttered the other 3 bedrooms!!! BUT i built a snowman in the garden (kids age 16 and 13 too old to do this now!!) and I lit the Chimenea and popped tea lights all around the garden to make it look even prettier!!! Only me about, so I just wallowed in the pretty garden!!!
:T
I think that's very thrifty actually - enjoying the treasures that life gives you, when it gives you them.
An 'at home day' again today (roads an absolute nightmare, work closed, v. dangerous). I was a good girl and got on with a work project that needed doing, and have just finished typing it up. What I saved on petrol I spent making a lovely fire in the dining room, so that I stayed in there and actually accomplished something. Must confess that this afternoon I went out for a lovely walk - it was so lovely, and the sky was amazing. That darned ironing's still not done, though.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
Declutter him like you have the kids?
I just sort of sneak things out when he's not looking. Only occassionally do I get caught out when he says, "Honey, have you seen that whatever I got?" :rotfl:

Shame he's not tall enough to reach the facepack finger prints they've left all over the mantelpiece and mirror!Take the first step.

Still have that small pile of ironing to do (from days ago,) tucked out of sight. Out of sight, out of mind.
Think I shall have to do it today though as the hem has come down in some of DH's work trousers. With my complete lack of sewing abilities, I'd have to use some of that iron-on hem stuff to repair them.

We are still finishing DIY jobs and getting the house in a nice state for viewings, so feeling a bit shattered at the mo. We have had about 7 days (DH took time off) of solid work with a 2 year old trying her best to "help" i.e. make everything take twice as long. In-laws have DD for the afternoon and after tidying and cleaning up for about 4 hours solid, the thought of ironing a basket of washing and the essay I should have done last week is just not appealing at all. I think a peanut butter, banana and honey toastie and cuppa is more likely right now. But then, that will be something else to wipe down after...Love and compassion to all x0

Worse still, they're now out in the kitchen making twinks hobnobs!
Oh Mummysaver, I wish that you had been MY Mummy! Much as I love her, she would never have even CONTEMPLATED letting me do something so messy! Good on you!
Sadly I live too close to work to try for a 'snow day' - not that we had all that much of it really and it's mostly melted now - but we are forecast more for tonight and the sky is looking likely for it (just hope it pitches!).
I was a GOOD OSer today - fried onions & stewing beef before work this morning, and put in slow-cooker with various chopped veg for tonight's tea, AND spent lunchtime sorting out our finances and writing YET ANOTHER 'To Do' list for the house.....problem is that by the time I get home I'm usually too darn tired To Do any of it......
Must try tonight though, as it is my only 'free' evening until next Weds - Yikes! The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

To which the correct answer is 'I think it might be under that pile there...' :rotfl:0
