After reading 'Your favourite OS thread' I looked at some of the ones mentioned there. Oh, tell me Flylady is fiction, please...I don't believe anybody could/would want to do all that housework  ! Fortunately I found this one and immediately felt comfortable  , I've only read a few random pages and it's just like home. If I just say there's a muddy paw print on my cream sofa which has been there since last Tuesday even though the baby wipes are next to my elbow, there's a bag of potatoes which I forgot had been in the boot of my car for three weeks when I asked DS to get me some on Thursday, there are 7 odd sox on the dining room radiator and I can't remember when I last cleaned the windows (well I have nets so you can't really see the glass), am I 'good' enough to join this thread?
The clue's in the colour, sparrer - you have been letting little shoots grow on these, chitting sparrer-style, in readiness for planting.:D
I've had crops from taties like these.
When A was coming for Chrimbo on 22/12, I had to take 2 chairs, many boxes and some bags out to no.2 shed to make it possible for a.n.other person to have freedom of movement.
Much of THAT was from being in France for over 5 months until October.
It's all in the shed still..........
There's a lot from my latest return from France, having taken A back last month, still in front room.
It's what comes of having had v. large space and now not having it.
Project 2009 - clear loft and sheds 1 and 2............don't watch this space.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Thanks ampersand.
In reply, my fruit bowl has a few of last weeks wizened apples, a black banana, some very green, as yet inedible, bananas and the remains of an orange orange net
It's the Cockney sparrer, after the film 'Sparrers can't Sing' (that dates me!)
Bill W founded an organisation in America in the 1930's, which is now has millions of members world-wide
I remember 'Sparrers can't sing' (Barbara Windsor and James Booth) so I guess we're about the same age, Sparrer . Found myself 'googling' it and discovered the play/screenplay were written by 'Blakey' from On the Buses - Stephen Lewis.0 -
Having got up at 5 for work I have discovered I don't actually start until 11.30 today:o
Now which major task should I tackle, the curtain header tape that is coming off, the kitchen cupboards that need wiping or the freezer that needs defrosting hmmmmmmPucker up and kiss it Whoville! - The Grinch:kiss:0 -

Went to bed last night thinking that this morning I would tackle the kids bedrooms - change their beds, tidy and clean - with their help I might add!
Anyway having been up for 3 hours in the night (cos of hip pain) here I am now sitting on the computer instead of getting on with the tasks I had planned.
Lying in bed at night I have great plans, its actually putting them into action the next day that doesn't seem to workChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

Sounds familiar! Sitting at work I think to myself 'if only I was at home I would do this, this, this and that'. I get a day off and I sleep in, watch TV whilst having a leisurely breakfast, surf the web, have lunch, think about what to get for dinner, do the washing up just before OH comes in from work and wonder where my mojo went! :rotfl:0 -
Beccatje I think you're right, it's a little daunting when read 'in bulk' so to speak. I try to declutter but I'm not very good at it...always feel great when I clear out a drawer or cupboard but it seems as much goes back in as came out  How do I do that?!
I work at home so once the comp is on I get carried away with it - I love my job so much. I try not to turn it on til I've done the domestic bits but I simply have no self-control. My only saving grace is the lounge has to be clean and tidy - not difficult as it's seldom used - and so does the bathroom. It's just the rest of the house that's like Steptoes rag'n'bone yard!
When you read that whole thread, you'll panick. :rotfl:
But you can start quite simply with for example doing level one.
For today that would mean:
Monday - Kitchen and Dining room
Level One
Clear and wipe work surfaces
Empty and wash out bins
And then you'll be done!
Maybe throw in a few things that you normally do everyday anyway.
Just write it down on your list so that you can cross it off!
Silly really how that makes you feel SO good! lol!!
I clean the toilet every day (there's 6 of us using it so it needs it) and I hoover the downstairs every day due to a very hairy husky dog..
but I still write it down and cross it off to see my achievement.
And maybe if you're feeling really good... and energetic you'll tackle one 'hotspot' a week. Like one of those drawers that we are all so familiar with! :rotfl:
Give it time and you'll even start to enjoy it.
Okay, I'll stop promoting now... lol!0 -

I do that as well. Make plans of what I'm going to do. And I can 'see' myself doing it in my mind. (I think in pictures rather than in words)
And then when I get up to start doing it, I feel like I've already done it and don't want to do it again!!
So i try not to make plans.
Just look at the list for the day as I'm about to start so that I don't have that feeling of doing it twice.
I'm weird I know.0
