Beccatje the work tops get done every day cos the cats think it's their space. The bins get done every Tues so no wurries there. What I do have a problem with is sitting down! I had a **** OH many years ago who made me feel guilty if I wasn't doing my Cinderella act and it's never left me. Silly how these things stay in ones mind, but even so, the house will never be a candidate for Ideal home - and I don't think Iwant it to :o. However, I did get three drawers into two with a view to getting rid of the huge dresser in the dining room so it's a start :D

Well my house will never be a candidate either. I have a fridge magnet that reads: "This house isn't under construction. Kids just live here!"

And I know just what you mean by the Cinderella act. Believe me I know. I've had one of them [strike]nasties[/strike]husbands as well.

Don't you ever let anyone make you feel like that again. Ever! ;)

I'd just like to just not have to panick when I get unexpected visitors. I like to be able to let people into my house without having to clear space on my couch first! lol!!! Or see the windowcleaners come up the street and not have to rush around closing the curtains!
When I get 'with it' it at least looks good on the surface. :D

And I consider it a good thing that visitors don't generally open drawers and cabinets in my house.
Thank the Gods for that... they'd not survive!!

    :D

It's ten to two. The living room is in need of a tidy. Bathroom could do with a wipe over. I should be baking bread, and cookies, and the kids should all be washed and dressed. So should I for that matter.

You know what? I'm sat here in my dressing gown. Hub is at work. Kids are in PJ's. Beds haven't been made. Pots need washing. Need to think about tea prep. Need a shower. Need to dust furniture and mop the floors.

Instead I'm on here, with my hair sticking up and a nice cup of tea. Jeez, I hope my parents don't call around LOL.

Hub snored last night. Plus, I waited up or him as he was on late shift. By the time he'd wound down, it was 2am. I'm knackered, and I am seriously considering takeaway for tea and an afternoon snuggled on the sofa.

I even used powdered cheese sauce for kids with pasta this lunchtime. How lazy is that!
Well, what a difference a day makes ;)

Had a rough night last night, was up and down (the stairs ;)) a few times and eventually got up at 7am cos the kitten wanted me to :o. Back in bed at 8.30am cos I wanted to  and I hadn't had much sleep - slept til 1.30pm:eek:, got up realising I had to cook tea for 9 people  who were all coming by 4.30pm .

Needless to say I didn't get into the shower til gone 3pm and didn't have time to dry my hair as my hairdresser came to cut my friend's hair and by the time she had gone the others arrived - so I spent the evening looking like a golly***.

I'm not tired yet either and no housework was done - there's always tomorrow

Aye, doesn't it just! I was all upbeat and positive yesterday, but today? A wild horse couldn't drag my backside into action :rotfl:

I DID do the kids a healthy tea though, in my defence. Tuna, sweetcorn and mayo, with jacket potato, cheese and salad (yes, I know it's out of season but I fancied it :o )

You know what's even worse though? Just cos I left it, doesn't mean anyone else is going to do it. It just means I have more to face tomorrow now :rotfl:

    Oh, joy.

    And I'm craving a cigarette.

I'm hopeless today, really hopeless. I'm going to go and eat worms.
Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

Believe me I don't, I was young and naive then and today live by the principle that a person can only make you feel inferior if you allow them to. And I've had 2 OH's which is quite enough, thank you!

I was going to change my sheets today but decided to turn them around one more turn. I'm 5 feet short and have a king sized bed so only sleep on one little corner. The sheets get turned over after a week (or two :o ), then turned around top to tail...the theory being that they'll wear evenly that way . Same with the 4 pillows, I swap the two top ones when I turn the sheets, then turn them over. That way the bottom ones don't get dirty and at a push I can leave them til the next wash.

Re visitors, they're only allowed in by invitation except my DN(eighbour) who lives in the same happy state of 'comfort' as me. Mind you I did once have two charming young Mormon gentlemen at my door but I was moving house that day. They even offered to help! I've often thought I wish they'd call again but we're in a no cold-calling zone now so looks like I've missed the chance of assistance with a good clean-up :rotfl:

Beccatje and Sparrer - I'm another (ex-)member of the 'Cinderella Club' - so know exactly what you both mean.

My EX-OH, after hearing me asking (not telling) the kids to help with little jobs, said 'That's what YOU'RE here for!'. The cheeky bgr then wondered why on earth I would want a divorce!!!

Love your style with the sheets, Sparrer ;).

I'll find the quote later - about those who fail to learn from mistakes being doomed to repeat them.
