~Chameleon~ wrote: »I am SOOOOOOO glad you posted this as I thought I was going insane!!!! We have now gone through 4 different pairs of Nike boots and astro trainers this season as I thought the cats were peeing on them as the smell was so horrendous!!!
I even ruined two pairs by washing them and completely covering them in bicarb soda to try get rid of the smellI now make him keep them in the shed outdoors and refuse to take him training or to matches in my car as they stink it out  :rotfl:
Do you reckon we should contact Nike about them?
That could be a good idea, for ages my cat was in trouble & I kept banishing her to the garden - lucky I didnt take her to the vet, only realised was the boots when someone else mentioned it - easier for them the dont have a cat.0 -
Ok.... here's some of my confessions:-
I don't clean the toilet (oh does)
I've never cleaned the cooker except for the glass door and the hob
I don't have any washing up to do - but only because I have a dishwasher I use every day (even tho there's only two of us for half the week) - if it broke down, I sometimes wonder if I'd cry
After over a year of not buying jars of sauce - I have been buying Aldi olive and tomato pasta sauce (every week) for my lunches
I buy Smash - haven't mashed my own spuds in erm a long time and yet we have fish pie or shep pie every week or so.
I also buy Bisto instant white sauce as it usually goes wrong for me otherwise - plus this way I use hot water and don't use up the milk so OH has some left for his breakfast and cuppa tea.
I have a pile of clothes and bits I've been meaning to ebay for so long that I'm thinking of giving them to charity just so I get the space back.
I made lentil and sweet potato soup the other week and it looked like a big bowl of sick. (tasted ok though) It's in the freezer and meant to be for my lunches but I'm hoping I get paid before I have to take it to work.
Our fruit bowl contains dust (I threw the wrinkled apples out at the weekend as I couldn't be bothered to stew them to add to my porridge).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

awwh i don't really hate anyone- thats a strong word. ps do you make viewers take their shoes off? married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
OH makes people take their shoes off when they come in.
I keep quiet and do as I'm told - it's him that does the vacuuming after all.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Just a tip - I threw my fruit bowl away to get rid of mummified fruit and oh's little oddments. Fruit goes in salad box in fridge now.
Trouble is, now there is "stuff" all over window cills, dressers, mantlepiece etc. all the way from door to his chair and small volcano type eruptions around it. Might have been better keeping the fruit bowl.0 -
OK my confessions time:
1) OH does all the ironing - including my clothes (I love him lots)
2) OH also does all the clothes washing, takes the bins out and does all the washing up (I love him lots and lots!):D
3) Today, I have thrown out half a cucumber, two-thirds of a loaf of bread, a savoy cabbage and some parmesan cheese - even though I knew they would go off while we were away on holiday but couldn't find the energy to do anything with them to stop them going bad. Oh, and I have three mummified limes in the fruit bowl.
4) I have just spent £117 in Tescos - three quarters of my monthly budget!
5) I also have a pile of "to be ebayed" stuff on my office floor - and haven't seen the carpet underneath for three months! In fact, I don't even see the pile any more! At least it saves me having to vacuum underneath it.
6) Having returned from Sharm el Sheikh where it was 90 degree heat, to here where it is barely over freezing point, I am COLD and have turned the thermostat up!
7) Haven't been composting at OH's house as we are gearing up to sell and plan to take the bin with us, so have had to clear it and can't refill it yet.
8) Can't remember the last time I changed the bed-linen. I haven't any room on the drier to wash it now I have remembered to do it as its full of post-holiday washing.
9) The cooker should have a health warning on it..... I know I need to clean it soon as we need to put the house on the market!
10) I have three huge containers of Stork and two bags of self-raising flour in the cupboard as I promised OH I would make him cakes as treats but I CAN'T BE BOTHERED!
Oh, am exhausted now, think I might need to rest for a bit! Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

well, I started off reading this thread at its start a few days ago. Felt dead smug as my house work was all up to date, washing/ironing done, you wouldnt believe how clean it all was. Even fridge and oven.
That was then.
Now, I can join in, as my house is a pig sty. After four days of family all here, and people round.
There is so much washing I am considering inventing a "rainbow colour" wash and just stuff it all in the machine.
There is only one empty seat in my lounge, the others all have toys/books/clothes on them. So you have to sit on the floor - that needs cleaning too.
There are some fresh flowers in a vase that now look like the dried arrangements that you can buy. There is no water in the vase.
I am using caster sugar in my tea, and washing powder in my dishwasher.
Have decided it is better to leave my blinds down so people cant see in (and I cant see where toddler-kmate has licked the glass.
theres loads more, but have just realised that if Im quick, I can have a mini tidy before dh home....0 -
I just shook my keyboard and the dog thought it was his dinner!
We moved here 5 years ago and have a big walk-in cupbord where DH hangs our coats, there are piles of boxes in there from when we moved in and I don't know whats in them. Can't be anything important then.0 -
Hello! I dont think i have poster here before but i have been reading through this thread and its made me laugh so much i have had to join in. Im unashamedly non OS...but i do admire all those who are, to be honest my only excuse is that i cant be bothered with it! So here are my confessions for today..im sure there will be more to follow:
I have cleaned the house today from top to bottom using lots of chemicals and bleach and such things, i didnt change the bedding because i can remember doing it last time which therefore means it cant of been too long ago (right??), but i didnt hoover any stairs, well one set (our house is 3 storie) i cant really do without getting the extension lead out and that thats far too much hassle, but now they have gone a kinda dusty pink colour and are covered in a layer of dog fur..i should do them really...i have washed the blanket and cushion covers off the sofa though, i have had to empty the filter in the dryer 3times already because it was clogged with enough fur to make a large litter of puppies! I cant think of anything else to put here but im sure i have sinned in more ways than this! So hiya to you all!! Nice to be reading about you!0 -
