My mother came to stay few years ago over xmas, spent days cleaning even dusty skirting boards, and on arrival said. oh a house that looks lived in!!GRRR!(Is this same said woman who used to shame me into tidying up at home after hard days work, as she sat at home couldn't be bothered?!). Almost as bad as when to impress her I bought xmas dinner from M&S, lovingly prepared to perfection ans she said Well thank you M&S for the lovely meal!!! No wonder I live in Cornwall whilst she lives in Scotland! LOL!!Love her really.Grocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.

I am SOOOOOOO glad you posted this as I thought I was going insane!!!! We have now gone through 4 different pairs of Nike boots and astro trainers this season as I thought the cats were peeing on them as the smell was so horrendous!!!
I even ruined two pairs by washing them and completely covering them in bicarb soda to try get rid of the smellI now make him keep them in the shed outdoors and refuse to take him training or to matches in my car as they stink it out  :rotfl:
Do you reckon we should contact Nike about them?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Thank goodness for this thread-am on holiday at the moment, and was starting to feel bad about having done no laundry for a fortnight, and currently eating microwave pasta for breakfast as there is just no other food in the house...now I know I'm not alone! Haven't washed my hair since Friday and am thinking about buying more clothes to get me through the week x0

I hate people who take their shoes off, we have cream carpets in the hall etc, nothing a carpet cleaner doesn't solve and people think they should take their shoes off, yak, they get told to put them back on, I hate the sight of feet and they smell. I've put a carpet runner down over the carpet to discourage people from exposing their feet.
One day I might be more organised...........

I'm feeling left out.
I haven't got a fruit bowl
Do I need to buy one
Then I could find all my little bits that are always lost but you know where yours are cos they are in the fruit bowl obviously
Clean cars?
Are you telling me that people DO actually clean cars?
Properly clean in and out of them?
People really do do that?
Oooooo, this thread is now confusing me.
There are jobs on this thread that i never have done.
Ever :rotfl:
I shall be finally going home this evening for a night after a week away from home so I think that is a perfect excuse for a take away
Not that I need a reason :rotfl:Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

And this is the woman from whom I learnt all my slatternly ways... and on whose behalf I recently had to ask about how to de-gunk a teapot that hadn't been properly cleaned for a YEAR
chardonnay/lil_me - I'm with you on the shoes-taking-off thing as well. For a while I considered buying a house with my best friend from university, but soon realised that there was no way we could live together. She has a dark blue-grey carpet throughout her flat, but still insists on shoes being taken offIt was obviously destined never to work out with my ex, either, as he does the same!
I have laminate flooring and if somebody came in with stiletto heels I'd probably suggest they took them off, but that's more a noise thing than a mess thing.Operation Get in Shape
