My bedroom curtains have dust on the tops of them and have not been washed for about 7 years but to be fair they did shrink when last washed and if they shrink again they will be too small so I think its safer not to wash them :o as there are three windows in this room and it will not be cheap to replace them.

I have just checked the dining room light and there are dead insects in there, no idea how long they have been there.

After posting on here about the bedroom curtains I could not stop thinking about them so last weekend took them down and washed them :D

Fortunatly I have not gone as far as cleaning the dead flies out of the diningroom light so can I still post on here?
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

Oh no, now you've mentioned dead flies and dining room, I have an over whelming urge to check mine - HELP!!
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

No uplighter shades in this house, if the flies expire then the dog normally gets them, hehe.

I've had chest infection for the last two weeks, feeling better now but jeez, my house is disgusting. The cooker top looks like it's going to sprout legs and walk off! The dog is looking sorry for himself, his bedding needs washing. My sons' room gets tidied but really needs vacuuming. My kitchen needs burning down and rebuilding.

I haven't seen the kitchen table top for over a month, my youngest's pushchair is taking over most of the kitchen. I'm almost caught up on washing but the folding will have to wait.

My oh has been doing most of the cooking, I cannot look at another chicken dipper! Jamie Oliver would drop down dead in disgust if he saw my freezer at the moment. Bless my oh for helping but cooking is most definitely my forte. Which reminds me, the washing up is calling, yeah I'll ignore that again!
  • Have just rediscovered this thread, it's so funny :T. A good read for anyone who needs a feel good moment in their day today.

    Hi

Ah, finally, a place I feel I belong. I love reading this thread because I feel normal and I stress less about the state of my house and can enjoy the finer things in life like enjoying my family while they are young. I always think that other people must live in immaculate houses (like my friends house) but reading this I know now that my house is normal.

It's great to know that there are other normal people out there :j

    Oh God, dare I confess?

We moved into our dream house just over 3 weeks ago and other than the kitchen & some washing & ironing I haven't cleaned an inch of it (and no-one else has either) ... my excuse is I'm 38 weeks pregnant & have had man flu for a fortnight, but to be honest it's not much of an excuse - I should be nesting.... :o

    C xx
  • I had a dream house, was tidy and clean and no worries for unexpected visitors.

Then OH moved in with his "stuff" and boxes "just put them here for time being..."

4 years later we still have no lounge we can use and the kitchen is only just navigable...

love him to bits but wish he was more tidy (and hates me moving his "stuff")

I planned a delicious home cooked meal for dinner but instead I had a pot noodle :o
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
  • Moved in here 10 years ago and put up temporary curtains in the diningroom pinning up the hems. Yes you have guessed it the temporary pinned up curtains are still there :o
