Hmmm quick fruit bowl entry here.
My fruit bowl is empty and in the cupboard! BUT...... my fruit (bananas and apples) are all lined up on the windowsill.
Errrm2 angels in heaven :A0 -
every thing is empty in my house, well the fruit bowl has 2 things that might have been oranges at one time.
The emptiest thing is my suitcase which is lying open on DSDs bed at the moment, she was here earlier and laughed at the empty suitcase and said I need to get cracking!
Yeah I know I do but so far for my week away down with my DD I have packed 1 pair of trainers, 6 pairs of knickers and a few socks :rotfl:
Anyone know what the weather down south will be like next weekend, I need to pack for anything lol, guess jeans and jumpers will do!whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Depends on how far south you're going. The weather forecast I saw earlier said that after rain tomorrow it's going to be dry and get a bit warmer. HOORAY!0

I'm a Local Authority tenant and our tenancy agreement has a clause in it that states quite clearly that we must keep our homes clean and tidy. I have my fingers crossed that my LA's housework police squad has quite moderate standards...They were told from the start and have muddled on for many weeks without sorting it out. The repairs part of the housing dept is onto the housing officer to get in there and sort them out as we have a duty to get that system in there but the clutter and filth mean that the work cannot be done until things are brought up to a minimum standard. They are ablebodied people and there are no extenuating circumstances which we are aware of which could explain it, they just seem to be feeelthy beggars. If they can't or won't sort it, they'll have to get a company in to clean it (assuming the tenants will allow this) and bill them afterwards. Heating was condemned and disconnected over 6 weeks ago. Overall, we don't give a monkey's about housework standards unless and until things degerate to a point where a repair man won't enter, the neighbours complain about the stench from inside or that vermin are seen. I have passed homes where the honk hits you from behind closed doors and windows from 10 yards away; wouldn't want to be inside them.
The LA has got a duty to get that heating system in and the tenant has got to get the place into a miminal condition to make that happen, so you'd think they'd concentrate the majority of their efforts to making it happen but they seem to be bone idle.
I cetainly wouldn't want the Housework Police around my place as I imagine them as scary individuals with white gloves to check for dust and disdainful expressions.....On a lighter note I have found the bedroom floor! It's amazing how often a jest up here prompts me to get a wiggle on. I should add that my bedroom is only a few feet bigger than my bed so the bit of floor is only the size of a bedside rug, so it wasn't too much of a task to sort it out.
joeck68 SNAP! My fruit bowl is a cake platter, too.
I think the Button Fairies must be related to the Biro Pixies who stalk my every hour at home and at work to steal writing implements the moment my back is turned. Thieving blighters.
Introducing C-Space. Any fellow Discworld fans up here? Remember how the library at the Unseen University is so full of magical books that it distorts space and time into "L-Space?" I'm seriously thinking that domestic cupboards are collectively participating in a similar thing called C-Space. It's the only possible explanation for the real world phenomenon whereby you find things in your cupboards which you never put there and don't recognise while things you did put away have disappeared.
If anyone finds the marbles I lost in one of their cupboards can I have them back please?

I have some new confessions just for today...
Its raining so I couldn't go to work
Its raining so I can't walk up the garden to put the pots of dead cress that the kids planted, into the composter
Ditto the peelings from yesterdays soup
Its raining so I don't want to go out to put one of the 40 loads into the WM
Ditto the TD
Its raining so it would be silly to try to clean out the [STRIKE]skip [/STRIKE]car
Its raining so there is no point in washing and drying my hair
Oh, and my keyboard must be so full or dust/crumbs that I have to correct/re-type each word twice
I think I might go upstairs and try to wire up the sky+ box in my bedroom (that has been waiting since pre-Christmas) so I can watch TV in bed tonight rather than sit down here in the mess... (bedroom is worse but you can't see it when in bed watching TV
I have put the DW on and half done the kitchen but since dropping kids off at 8.50, I have been reading some more of this thread... Up to page 45 now :rotfl:
Edited to add - i has stopped raining but I am wearing slippers so still can't do the above as the grass is wet - I could put shoes on but I don't want to compact the lawn
Edited again - Tried to wire the sky+ box but its the wrong connectors - Epic fail today. Might as well give up now and have a nice long soak in the bath intead0 -
T.F.I Friday ... 2 days off work :j:j:j:j
Had a successful day today, I haven't cleaned anything obviouslyinfact I've made more mess :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I found some vouchers/half spent gift cards in my purse so popped out after work and got Wii play + remote (preowned) from HMV, had to pay £7 cash for them and got a preowned nunchuk from another games shop so we can have more than 1 player at a time now :rotfl::rotfl: also got a new cardi & socks from HMV (grand total £3.90 cash) :T:T
so there's 3 extra carrier bags piled on the kitchen table
then I decided to use some of ye olde bulbs & compost & seeds mentioned in my previous post when I got home. Not sure if they'll still grow after all this time but worth a pop :rotfl::rotfl: so there's 8 little plant pots on my kitchen windowsill, which means that 2 vases now don't have a home and are just hanging around on the kitchen side. And there's compost all over the floor just outside the back door
Then I helped Mr Melvis move the fence panels from one side of the garden to the other. Not sure of the benefit of this but they are closer to the panels they were brought here to replaceSmall business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0
