:)Introducing C-Space. Any fellow Discworld fans up here? Remember how the library at the Unseen University is so full of magical books that it distorts space and time into "L-Space?" I'm seriously thinking that domestic cupboards are collectively participating in a similar thing called C-Space. It's the only possible explanation for the real world phenomenon whereby you find things in your cupboards which you never put there and don't recognise while things you did put away have disappeared.

:D If anyone finds the marbles I lost in one of their cupboards can I have them back please?

I'm more of a reader than a poster, I'm afraid, but felt compelled to respond to this one. I feel that nothing other than wrinkles in the space time continuum can explain the mysteries of how things can disappear and reappear in my home. I know there are times when time runs out and you're expecting visitors and the tidying up takes a surreal turn (goodness knows there are still a couple of random items stuffed in my car boot from the mad pre-Xmas day tidy up) and we all get the absent minded moment when the washing up liquid ends up in the fridge or the like. But, there remains the inexplicable.

One of these inexplicable things was the appearance some time ago of a single marble on the landing of my (child free) house. I ignored it for some time hoping it would disappear in the same way it appeared until a redecoration meant it had to go into the 'everything drawer'. It is still there so if you would like me to post it to you I would be happy to do so. Perhaps other posters could similarly check their landings for its friends?

I think another phenomenon to consider is 'if it is there for long enough almost anything becomes invisible'. It is amazing what you can get used to stepping over or climbing around rather than taking to the tip or the charity shop. Generally it takes the 'parents visiting' impetus for the item to reappear in your consciousness.

So true!! Thankfully Mother Melvis gives me plenty of notice before she "pops round" even though she doesn't live far away, she must know what goes on in this house before she arrives

oh dear, I am now on a mission. House party on Saturday, and a friend who I feel wants to sleep in the spare bed, rather than on a mountain of clothes. Have gutted bathroom and kitchen. 2 bedrooms, another bathroom and living room to go. Oh and the ironing pile.....

    yay it's all done :j
I don't think it has EVER been this clean and tidy and now I'm really proud of it :D

I have a confession to make.....

All that's in my fruit bowl is fruit. Apples, oranges and one plum. None of it is old, wrinkled or mouldy.

Next to my fruitbowl, leaning against the wall and threatening to tip over onto the floor however, is a humungous pile of carp waiting to be rehomed or put away. I am sat watching "Are you being served?" on DVD and cross stitching...

*Phew* I thought for a minute I'd have to leave this thread in disgrace, but I reckon I just sneaked back in :rotfl:

Oh I love this. We have bought a new car (well newer car). This means that I have to completely empty the car boot. I dont even know whats in the bottom of it, I havent actually seen the boot carpet for a very long time. I know there are footballs, trainers, football boots, football training cones, a first aid kit, coats, bags with things in, maps, water bottles, a fleece rug, some tent pegs (!) and .... well I dont really know what else. Wish me luck.

I was shopping with my sister in law before Christmas and she opened her car boot to put the shopping in there. There was an umbrella in her boot - an umbrella and nothing else, not even a speck of dust or dirt - how does she do it???

I know for better fuel economy you shouldnt carry c**p in the car boot but if its not in there I have to find somewhere else to put it. Sigh.

What sort of idiot carries an umbrella in the BOOT of the car? If its piddling down you get wet going to get it? shouldnt umbrellas live under the passenger seat? or in the drivers/passengers handbag? or in the door clutter areas?

Yeah but my SIL wouldnt want it making the interior of her car look messy thats probably why it was in the boot. Oh maybe thats a bit mean - I hope she doesnt read this!!! I am kidding really..

Well dear hubby has emptied the car boot for me. He has put most of the random stuff in a big carrier bag which is now sitting in the kitchen along with two big bags of football stuff. For some bizarre reason my sons school trousers are also in the middle of the kitchen floor with a football sock and I refuse to pick them up. I am just too tired to care tonight.
