@ anewman... no disrespect to you or your car my friend, but I very much doubt that any skoda will go up in value...

Only "classic" cars tend to go up in value and in my opinion Skoda have not made any such cars.....

Like I said, thats nothing against Skoda, I think the same applies to lots of other car brands.

There are the estelle and rapids (foerunner to the favorit) which are going up in value (the good one's anyway), and were recently featured in Classic Car Weekly. For example http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260198552815&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37%26satitle%3D260198552815%26fvi%3D1 and http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1990-Skoda-120-low-mileage_W0QQitemZ110223619848QQihZ001QQcategoryZ18275QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Possibly 6 or so years ago you couldn't pay anyone to take them off your hands. Ok £690 and £460 is not mega bucks but it's better than £0.

The particularly interesting things about them that make them classics is the non-euro box styling and the fact the engine is in the rear. I guess the price goes up as demand is starting to outstrip supply with few good one's left as the others went to the scrap.

And the Skoda jokes were at their peak when the Estelles and Rapids were around.

I'm trying to sell a Vauxhall Meriva and have had 1 call in 3 weeks and they were a no show! It drives me potty! Checked it out on parkers and the price seems to be rite. I am sure I read somewhere that there is little demand for these type of cars? It's been a brillant family car and I was looking to replace it with the same model.

The only calls I keep getting are people offering to sell it on my behalf!

I sold a BMW 3 series a couple of years ago and the phone never stopped.

    Matt - Very Nice :D

well done matt! Mine still smells new. Have to say I love my new car now which is something that surprises me as I've never been a new car person.

Can I say I am really pleased it all worked out in the end. You took some real unnecessary stick on here at times.

She looks really sexy! Probably should be a he with that registration!

lol its not BJ08YEY, Its BJ08YEV.

I did take some stick on this thread... mentioning no names... but hey ho, your always gonna get that on any thread!!

Just really please with the car. There was only a minor hiccup when we got there as on of the parcel shelf string holders were missing, as they forgot to put one in when it was being manufactured, so it was easily sorted when one of the mechanics took one out of one of the showroom fiesta's. Also i am having to wait a week for my spare remote key, as it hasnt been delivered yet!!
