The OP should have planned better. As they did not, then yes, I think they should (in their own words) put up and shut up.

His payment isn't late because of the bank holiday. It's late because DWP didn't pay it on time. That's not his fault it's theirs.

If he wishes to use an emergency service the DWP provides to cover situations like this, who's it for you to tell him otherwise ? It's not free money he's getting over and above what he's entitled to - he'll have to pay it back anyway.

Sometimes it's difficult making benefit money stretch a week or a fortnight ... let alone another day or two. I tried living off £59.15 per week Jobseeker's Allowance last Summer ... it's almost completely impossible and now I'm back in work I'm still paying off debts I accrued when i was unemployed. Try it. You wouldn't be so judgmental.

Don't be so hard on the guy, or so spiteful. You do yourself no favours.

can i just set the record straight here.
    posties are not 'late'
remember the later starts that were introduced by RM? well later start means later starts on delivery and thus later finishes.
post offices are open on saturday as normal,as are deliveries.anyone having a problem with posties having the bank holiday friday could move to Scotland where they just have the monday
i was at the doctors today and they are closed from friday to monday, obviously i complained it incovenienced me ;)

there is no set times for post. the postie could be covering other duties
he may(as i have to do) change the walk depending on what time he gets out of the office.
i have to do this for catching service buttons which are still on 2 delivery time settings
maybe i have customers who think i deliver when it suits me?

mail loads are differnet every day so if it averages at 11.30am its hardly a problem is it.im sure plenty would love to get mail in the morning.
FYI posties start earlier on a saturday in most offices

just wait till your nearest post office is 10 miles away and your postie is covering twice as many calls

the business is more intrested in maikig a profit than providing good customer service .. we used to have two posts a day and no it is so erratic

    sorry removed but about privitisation

its a public limited company but its no longer state owned as it used to be

sadly this is what happened when they privartised the business . its more intrested in maikig a profit than providing good customer service .. we used to have two posts a day and no it is so erratic

    rm isnt privatised
regardless 2 posts a day is totally uneconomic in real terms.
