maybe i am making a fuss over nothing . Maybe i should count myself lucky that i may get money on saturday. maybe im scum of the earth for claiming benefits and then whinging about it when i dont get it on a date set.

But if you were expecting your pay check today and you had not recieved it you would be livid .

trying to help you here

as ive said, im sure a post office will be open on saturday, go to their website and check the opening times of the 1 local to you, it may mean you'll have to go to a main one and not a sub postoffice

OMG you are expecting someone to come out to your home (at cost to the taxpayer) when you are going to receive your money on Saturday?

It's one of those little known services that's been around since the Ministry of Pensions was with us in the 60's ... don't take it out on the OP if you don't happen to like what the department/government offers ... instead try blaming the DWP who haven't made his regular payment on time. What would you have him do ? Live off fresh air for 36 hrs ?

No im not i said i will look into this.

and thanks to the previous poster.

I have paid taxes the same as everyone else

But nobody else expects someone to come out to their home just to give them money for ONE DAY!

Are you sure that you don't want the money for your holiday next week?

Please be rational about this. We are talking about a wait of one day. If you think that the postman will be late on Saturday, then call the sorting office first thing on Saturday morning and ask if they can hold the letter there for you, so you can collect it and take it straight to the PO. Simple!
    Gone ... or have I?

I doubt very much that the OP has absolutely nothing for the next 36 hours, especially as he has money to go on holiday next week.

As I said, the potential bank holiday delay affects thousands of claimants, not just him. What would we do if everyone had not budgeted and expected the DWP to go to their homes tonight?

The OP should have planned better. As they did not, then yes, I think they should (in their own words) put up and shut up.

ii want it so i can buy food for the cat . Being vegetarian i do not have any meat in the house and i only have enough food to last him til tommorrow morning thats the only reason and the fact i was expecting it today .

he will have to put up with th biscuits he doesnt likes . and yes i was looking for ideas about holiday but thats not why im upset.

I have not once suggested that i am going t ask anyone round my house.

i at present have not one penny to spend on anything.

Besides i do not see why i have to justify what im spending the money on.
