It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

You will NOT get sent to jail. They do not do that any more.

Mores the pity. If debtors were sent to jail then perhaps people would think twice before getting themselves into such stupid debt problems through sheer greed & stupidity.

And perhaps the rest of us wouldn't have to pay higher taxes and interest rates to bail them out.

Controversial i know but thats my opinion and i'll bet i'm not alone.

  • Wow. Good job I'm not having an 'easily offended' day  Seriously, I know that some people will have that opinion. But unless they know my full story, they can't judge and therefore I'm not affected by their input. Everyone has their reasons for debt - and it's not as black and white as greed or stupidity. I know that first hand now.

Thanks for the continuing messages of support. I'm planning to spend Saturday adding up what I owe and trying to figure out where it went / where it went wrong. Then ... assuming I have the energy left in me ... I'll pick up the phone.

(((((((hug)))))))) Well done you. That's the way to think.

We get one of these idiots pop up from under the bridge every few months. We usually tell 'em where to go, the Discussion Time thread where things like this can be discussed.

Don't push yourself on Saturday, just do what you can and if you need any support you know where we are.

    Spot on Terrified77! :)
Everyone has their own, sometimes very personal, reasons for being in this situation but the fact that they've come here looking for advice, help, reasurance etc shows that they want to get it sorted out and they should be supported not judged!
I know I wouldn't have got this far without the very helpful people on this website!
