I have not made any sweeping statements I have given you facts ..you just don't appreciate others have a different view to you, as is obvious from your other postings.

Don't go shouting your mouth off first without getting the reasons and facts behind peoples views:mad:

Oh shut up you drama queen

ooh i live NEAR leeds so i KNOW whats going on with NR , because i `know` someone that works there , so what , means nothing, not to me anyway, you just like babbling on , trying to give us all the impression your `in the know`

your so blaze about the two issues lets not forget YOU bought up the little girl , why on earth did you do that ?
  • I think you will find that Halifax have planned this out over a long period.

Over a year ago every person that had an overdraft facility with Halifax received a letter stating that they were reviewingtheir o/d system and that o'd's would be reveiwed on a yearly basis.

You will also find that on every statement for the last year it tells you the date your overdraft facility will be reviewed. They have in effect given you 12 months notice and a monthly reminder that your overdraft facility may be removed.

They have the right due to terms and conditions which are sent out regularly with thstatements.

I am not saying I agree with it but they have given plenty/regular notice.

I will be in the same boat come August and am now planning ahead by leaving £50 a month in my account so I don't get hit with charges.

The good news is that will not make a penny from my acount after August as I will no longer be paying debit interest.

At the end of the day, apart from the selective few we, are all aware of the long term implications that can arise from a full blown credit crunch. those that have removed their blinkers have made alternative arrangements with their money, those that continue to have faith in a system which is obviously failing without the public interests i.e.Tax Payers money, have no rights whatsoever to benefit from my hard earned money, via the public funds in event of a collapse..in fact those fat cats that are on the high and mighty thrones at this present moment of time, should be grateful that we the poor working class have adapted the attitude not to take the P _ _S out of them on their way down..(well not too much anyway)

What are you going on about!! Clearly you believe everything you read. What sort of proof do you want. I was saying 2000 people are not being sacked, if you don't believe me ring NR HO on Tuesday!

I have no need to ring anyone, you have just made a public statement that the media article about job loses at N.R. is a complete lie.

    DATED 19th MARCH 2008

THOUSANDS of job losses at Northern Rock have today been described as a “huge blow” to the region’s economy.
Boss Ron Sandler announced yesterday that the Newcastle-based bank would have to lose around a third of its staff in the next three years – with most of the losses coming in the first year.
And today MPs and financial experts have said the region’s economy will pay dearly for the job losses and it was essential the bank remained in the North East.
Newcastle Central MP Jim Cousins, a member of the House of commons Treasury Committee, told the Chronicle it may be more than the local economy could stand.
He said: “More than 2,000 job losses is a huge blow. Chancellor Alistair Darling and Northern Rock’s chairman Ron Sandler are talking about retaining a core financial business for Northern Rock.
“That is absolutely vital for the economy of the North East. It is absolutely essential that we keep Northern Rock as a major Newcastle-based business
  • You clearly are not understanding that its 2,000 from when it went into trouble. As I said 500 have resigned already and with attrition/retirement (normal and early) then it will be substantially less than 2,000 people lossing their jobs...they just won't replace them. That is all I have been trying to say. The media make it sound worse than it is, althought I do appreciate that it can not be nice working for BR in all this turmoil

And you clearly don't understand that the remark of more than 2000 job loses was made in a statement 2 days ago by boss Ron Sadler, and it also refers to these 2000 + job loses going over the next three years, regardless of who has already left.
