(((Smokey)))
(((penny pincher)))
Have washing machine on but it is a really dark day that wants to rain so might not be able to hang it outside.
DD gets home from Oxford about 3p.m. so would like to be able to give her a lift from the station.
It will be nice to have six of us in the house again.
Strange to think it is nearly Easter as there do not seem to be any real signs of Spring yet.
Want to cook something special but undecided what. DD (14) has suggested my special chicken pancakes but they take ages- unless I cheat slightly.
The thought of making 18 pancakes is daunting!
Washing machine is bleeping at me so going to hang stuff out ."This site is addictive!"

(((((((((HUGS))))))))))) to Smokey and Pen-Pin thinking about you both.
I'm slowly getting better. Legs are working a bit more!:rotfl: saw my nurse yesterday, she says I shuldn't go back till after Easter, so I'll have to get another cert next week. Feel guilty about it, but what can I do?
DS gone off to college. OH coming tonight for the weekend. Haven't seen him for a fortnight, can't wait!:T
Cassoulet for dinner. In the slow cooker already. Found what I thought was boiling bacon in Daddy's freezer, god knew how long it had been there!:rotfl: so, boiled it up, then realised it was PORK! Whole lot went in the bin!:rotfl: Not very MSE I know, but better to be ssafe than sorry!
Have a great day!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning all

((hugs))) to Smokybabe, thinking of you at this difficult time.
Got Howdens coming to measure up for the kitchen in the new house today and decide which i want -I'm way ahead, had it all planned for months, got every detail picked out, a college made from their brochure and a plan (with my terrible, so-not-to-scale drawing
) all ready for them
I am so excited about this kitchen, its gonna be the best part of the house! And ..... an oven that works!!! :j
Had a bad day yesterday, one of those where nothing goes right and to top it all some stupid woman reversed into my car  She was about 80yr old and really should not be behind the wheel at all. We were driving down this street towards the main road when all of a sudden she braked and reversed right back into me without a backwards glance  There was no time for me to reverse out of her way. She then drove off so i followed her and she pulled over, when i asked her why she didn't look where she was going she said "Oh i dont bother looking", so i told her she shouldn't be driving then and she said "No i shouldn't but i've got things to do"   I mean !!!!!!, a child could have been crossing the road thinking it was clear as the car had gone past and being on a hill you really have to press hard on the accelerator to get it going, she just shot backwards.
Anyway, got a licence plate and she gave me her address eventually, after first denying that she hit me at all, despite there being witnesses then saying it was nothing, only a scratch etc. I'm not bothered about the bl***y car! Cars can be fixed but i was so shaken up and as she hit me i sort of braced myself and now my bump is all achy and sore today. And the main point is she shouldn't be on the road if she can't even do something as simple as check behind her before she starts to reverse.
Sorry for my rant, just had to get it all out!
Have a good day all

Kate, hope you and the baby are OK. I'd take advice from your insurance company, but consider reporting the driver to the police. AFAIK, leaving the scene of an accident without leaving your details is a criminal offence, and as you say, it may be a child next time.

Its' raining here, big cold drops hope it clears up before tonight but sadly I don't think it will.Sorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Thanks Pen-pen
I did ring the police because as you say she left the scene etc but they just said "Oh you have to contact your insurance, its nothing to do with us"
I'm sure it'd be something to do with them if it was a child next time, makes me so mad

I can't believe it. A post that doesn't need changing.
I forgot to say welcome to the new posters. & also Mrs Mix.
& Happy Anniversary to Mrs Quiet Life & the birthdays I forgot.
I've really had to force myself to post the last few days. Felt so sad for Smoky.
Kitty Glad to see that you're alright & I hope the outcome is that she stops driving.
elantan Hope your course goes great. It can be a bit daunting the first day.
PenPen Enjoy your holiday in Italy & the place looks great although chilly. Brrrrr.
Cat That was so sweet.
Kyle Good luck. Peroxide is really good to put in your ears. No truly. I'm not joking.
You make up a solution with water and put 2 drops in each ear. It bubbles up and clears all the wax out.
Just had our tea & done the dishes. I made some jelly biscuits. They are pink. You put 2 pkts of jelly crystals when you cream the butter & sugar. I only had pink so DGS can get in touch with his feminine side at an early age.
Be good for St Pat's day. I can see green biscuits getting made next year.
Off to have a shower. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

morning all
my ear is still bad - I think it might burst today as I have failed to get a dr's appointment - the only time they could give me clashed with picking up dd11 from school - still it means that I have had a few decadent days cross stitching instead of w*rk.
Exoh coming over tonight to pick up dd11 for the weekend - another split easter here - she will go back to school on Tuesday and then off again on the 7th April. We have a caravan (sorry martyn) booked for that week at Camber Sands. It started off being just 4 of us but we are 8 now with dd18 bringing 2 of her friends, dd11 one of hers, and dgs3 one of his - I have no friend and must make do with my dbro and his family who have booked the same week.
Need to plan the meal for the Annual Easter Egg Extravaganza on Monday - I will cook a roast something or other - so nice to cook a big roast dinner. With only veggie dd and me here usually it's never worth it unless we have visitors. Hope it's not hot either - last year all the eggs melted in the garden and dgs3 had great fun squishing them between his fingers.
hugs to smokey, pp and lilmisskitkat and anyone else who'd like oneI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080
