Oh dear, I've just signed & sent back the agreement. Not sure I want the account now.0

For the platinum account with the privilege account reduction, we got a mailshot (about 12 months ago it had a fancy horse drawing on the front, usually throw them away, don't know what made me read this one) with a privilege card and a privilege account manager, they only have my work number so they ring me at work where I can fob them off that I'm too busy, however, I did speak to her and mentioned why hadn't the account charge been reduced to £10 a month (from £15) like it said in the mailshot and she replied that they only did it on request (ie if you were eagle eyed enough to spot it and then mention it to them)

You don't have to keep £1000 on the account. It was explained here many times that you can use the same £1000 month by month - either by transferring to some other bank and back or even just by withdrawing money and paying back over a counter.0 -
I didnt realise you could withdraw the cash & pay it back in at branch. That's OK then. :-)0

Thanks. From the links you've posted, it looks like the fee is £5, if you didn't make the minimum payments each month.0 -
Just got A&L forms to sign and return.
In covering letter, it is mentioned that for retaining agreed overdraft I have to *fund* minimum of £3000 a month. But another paragraph says i have to pay-in £1000 min. Could anyone clarify this?
BTW, if anybody interested in recommending me, please PM
Thanks

*I think* £3000 is a mistake. Just call them and ask.0

Is the 3K your monthly salary? My letter I got stated on the first page that I had to pay in my monthly salary to maintain the overdraft I was given. And you have to pay in at least 1K a month to get all the account benefits so these refer to different things.l0 -
M Thomson is quite right. The agreed overdraft limit is based on the monthly funding; the £1,000 funding requirement is to qualify for the account. So, you could reduce funding from £3k to £1k and you'd lose the overdraft, but not affect the account qualification.0

Went on the A&L site today, can only see the statement, "join and we will give you £25" how do you get the extra £50?0
