Okay this is really just me having a fume and a rant so please bear with me.
I gave OH £60 (our last £60) at the beginning of the week for his train travel to work. a weekly fare is £64 but he said he would go in late a few mornings to get the cheap ticket and save the £4. He didnt go into work at all yesterday or today (worked from home), so I naturally assumed we might have about £15 left over as extra PIN money! he has just told me there is nothing left except train fare for tomorrow  , as when he was p'ed off with the money situation earlier in the week he put a bet on a horse "to try and help us outt", and sighted the fact that we spent £30 at bingo earlier in the month.
I see this more as a treat for us, as no-one can live without fun, and not so much about making money
. He says he knows he did a stupid thing but I am just so annoyed he wasnt even going to tell me, and wouldnt have if I didnt have such a firm grasp of what money is where.
Grrrrrrr! Okay rant over now - thank you!

Poor you! They can be idiots some times cant they!!
Mine is like that, comes back with a couple of scratchcards that never win, wasting a couple of quid in the process! He's already got to get on top of his money situation, which I have now told him I will sort out and he can do as he is told in future!! If I didnt set it up for him, he'd never deal with it!!
Fortunately he only has one overdraft that needs paying off, and has two accounts, so it shouldnt take too long to sort once we have moved, he's just not really been trained in money - he thinks I should do it as I come on here and could do it 'better'. How do they manage without girls???

Thanks for replying guys!
Squeaks Not to worry, I have 2 ferrets tha live with my ex, might be more fun to watch :-)
Jo - I agree men are rubbiash without women sometimes (you know we dont mean you Squeaks he he), but it drives me mad that he didnt tell me when I asked him point blank last night how much money was left. I wuldnt waste £15 without asking him first!
Anyway enough saidKirsty, Taunton, xxx0 -
Oh you have my sympathies and the angrier you feel the more he is like "I did it for us"!!! I bet you wish he would surprise you and come up with some novel ideas for money.
I am having trouble trying to get my bf to get his bum in gear and pay off one of his cc debts. He now has the money to clear it but still a month from me asking him, he still hasn't done it, and yes more interest to pay on it. Why???? Doesn't make sense to me.

......actually you say that you gave him the money for his train travel for the week.........so why not give him the money daily instead? The days when he works from home, you keep the fare money so it can't be frittered (gambling is a mugs game;) ) away again.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Alternatively, divorce him and keep the £60 for yourself to waste at bingo!

p.s. is there no saving to be made buying a weekly or monthly ticket?0

Hiya guys that to all who replied! Pal, there are only minimal savings for a monthly or weekly ticket - he does sometimes work at home so doesnt always work out the cheapest option. Giving him the money daily is normally what I do - silly me for not doing it that way this week - D'oh!Kirsty, Taunton, xxx0

I'd hit him with my money tree if I was you :rolleyes:0
