Mine is like that, comes back with a couple of scratchcards that never win, wasting a couple of quid in the process! He's already got to get on top of his money situation, which I have now told him I will sort out and he can do as he is told in future!! If I didnt set it up for him, he'd never deal with it!!
Fortunately he only has one overdraft that needs paying off, and has two accounts, so it shouldnt take too long to sort once we have moved, he's just not really been trained in money - he thinks I should do it as I come on here and could do it 'better'. How do they manage without girls???

Sorry but yes I could and have done!!
I'm getting tired of bailing DH out. I've had to squeeze my grocery money down to almost nothing to have enough to pay his speeding fine and have enough left over for his weekend away.
All this summer I have gone without and dragged the kids round every free event going, I don't even have enough for a day trip to Weston for them and yet he will be going away for 5 days with £500 in his pocket.
I'm getting mightily PO'd with the situation

Moggins,
The question is why? unless it is worked related.
Personally it is not something I would put up with. I would not scrimp and save and go with out for my husband. Unless it was for something really important that was needed e.g some medical treatment, or to visit friends or family because of a crisis.
I assume you have spoken about it and how unhappy it is making you.
I am sorry you are having such a tough time at the moment.
Take care.
Not sure if cyber chocolate is going to be much good to you.

Unfortunately it is sort of work related. He's a conductor for a major brass band and it's their two-yearly trip out there where they will be working for most of it. He normally gets paid a nominal sum for his work with them but they all have to pay for themselves for this trip and it's sort of a matter of pride for me that he goes with enough money to do everything that everyone else does. I know it sounds stupid but I got taken the mick out of so much at school for being poor that no matter how much I have to scrimp and save behind closed doors it never looks like that on the outside.
I might buy all my clothes in charity shops but they're all good quality ones that are ageless and will look great. I refuse to go into debt for stuff but I just don't want people looking at my family the way I was looked at when I was a kid. I guess that's why I'm so old style because that way I can give them the best without it looking like I'm cutting corners

Moggins,
No it is not stupid. I can see why you do it. But I can also see why you are hacked off with it as well.
Better start saving for next time LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I was growing up it was not easy and we didn't have lots of things and most of it second hand.
I have got to the stage in my life that I don't care what people think. If they think we are poor because we have no telly let them think it. So that is one thing I am not a slave to.
I just say it was a choice between telly and broadband and we choose broadband.
Husband and I do have some savings but I will not let on to anyone how much and just pretend that we are getting by. I have clean clothes, a car to drive, a home, food to eat and clean water to drink and a loving husband so I am lucky, very lucky.
Take care.
Yours
