    ok thanks

well i have got the job, just aslong as the paper work checks out. have applied for the basic disclousure, have sent my references off and i await the arrival of the pack in the post

i did apply for the tech support job(i have more experience) and when my first interview came, i was asked questions related to inbound sales and they then told me there is no vacancies available for the tech job (although thats what i applied for and is still advertised) and they have pushed my down the inbound sales route, maybe there isn't any tech jobs available (i am sceptical) or they have more inbound sales positions to fill hence pushing me down that route. Although they said themselves that i would be more suited to the technical role

workbooth all setup and working, start training on the 7th july, i have opted for the 7-11pm slot

so if anyone else has i will be seeing you there :T

Hi can I ask a quick question?
I applied for the tech support role at the start of the year and at the time, after being offered the role, I found out they wanted me to start at 4.30pm. Which at the time I couldn't do.
I know there was a reply at the start saying the hours were flexible, but could someone tell me how flexible? Can you chose to start at 7pm or do they insist you start at a time to suit them?
Also the weekend hours, are they flexible as well?
Must confess I haven't read all the posts, so sorry if I'm asking questions which have already been answered.
Finally how difficult is the sales work? Is it an easy sale, i.e. add on to a product they are already bying or sign up to broad band from enquiry? Or is it trying to sell snow to eskimos?

Hi basil01. The inbound sales hrs after training and nesting, are 4.30 to 11pm Mon to Friday, and from 8.30 to 6pm Sat and Sunday. You can work anything from (I think) 22 to 32 hrs per week, but you would have to start and 4.30 and finish at 11pm You would be required to work the weekends and at the moment all the sales guys are working both days but you don't work the full days. for instance I work Sat and Sun mornings. They try to make sure you have two days off together.

The sales are relatively easy - existing customers just wanting to upgrade packages and signing up to broadband etc-no hard selling involved at all- most of them do want the packages before they even phone you.:D

I had my first interview but was told that if I get the job I MUST start at 4:30, this is not negotiable. As I don;t finish my other job until 6pm.

Elen said, nothing she can do about it, as you HAVE TO start at 4:30.. :(

Any other similar companies out there that do the same thing? (but different hours??)

i think that is the criteria they are looking for, i.e you have to be available from 4.30 to 11pm because these are the hours of the shift

you could get lucky and be given hours after 6pm, but you wouldn't find out until about 3 weeks of training what your shifts are

but rule of thumb is you have to be available from 4.30 and they mention this in the interview because they allocate you shifts and you wont know until further into your training what times they are

could be anytime between 4.30 and 11

ideally i am holding out for 7-11pm as 4.30 is a scrape myself but i am going through everything incase i get lucky

i will still do the 4.30 if they want me to, but like i said that is the worst time for me
  • Hi all,

I have been avidly watching this thread -
My OH has been out of work for a while, and has become frustrated at the number of jobs he has applied for and heard nothing.
We have been struggling as I am just in my final year at Uni and we have 3 kids (Yep I am a mature student)

Anyhow he applied to teletech 2 days ago - he had all the assesments yesterday, and had his interview today!
he has a online session tomorrow at 6pm!!
I cant believe how efficient the process is!! - I hope he gets the job the money would really help us.
Keep your fingers crossed for us !
