You could always use the plastic containers that satsumers or meat comes in to organise things. They're clear so you can easily see what's in there.
Niki your cupboards put mine to shame. I'll have to get organised next week. So do we play storecupboard challenge and guess what you're having for tea?0 -

It also reminds me when things are nearly empty or need replacing, as I can see them as I walk through the kitchen!

You can get a DVD player for under £20 from Amazon.co.uk, or there were some free ones at comet for signing up to One-Tel (You could cancel straight away). You can't be waiting for them to get any cheaper than that
I want one that records TV programmes as video recorders do as well as plays DVDs
The point of the suggestion was that the video tapes are recorded over several times.0 -
I'm trying to do a bit of a kitchen re-organise and now I've started pulling things out of cupboards I'm beginning to have a bit of a 'what-shall-I-put-where' crisis. Anyone who'd like to post how they sort out their kitchen contents it would be much appreciated.
So far I've started by putting baking stuff in a single wall cupboard, which before held all sorts of cr**, sorry essential items! ie batteries, medicines, lightbulbs and a lot of stuff I don't know what to do with. Now that is strewn all over my worktop and I've run out of steam....
Can anyone help? Please:DAMAZON SELLERS CLUB MEMBER 0082 :hello:0 -
Are you able to get 4" shelves all around the cupboard under the stairs?
My dh put them in for me and I have lots and lots of neat plastic boxes in there. I labelled all the boxes and can find most things from candles to batteries to herbs and spices. It takes up very little room and I still have the vacuum cleaner etc in there0 -
Hiya,
I've added your post to an earlier thread which has quite a few ideas.
Good luck

I try and avoid having things in the kitchen that I don't have to, but it's all right to say that if you have somewhere else to put it!
Have a drawer for flour.... hmmm yes, plain, SR, no wholemeal or brown at the mo, malted, granary, some breadmix that was a mistake, buckwheat, GF, rice flour, rye, also porridge oats, oat bran, wheat bran, big oats, pasta flour, errrrm....
The next drawer up is baking stuff, fruit, nuts , seeds, gelatine and other stuff to make things set, cornflour, custard powder etc etc
sectionin another cupboard for all types of sugar (except the gran container, which wouldn't fit in!)
ANother cupboard for all rice, grains and pasta.
Another drawer has all tea and coffee making, some preserves.
ONe has foil, film, bags , parchment, bun cases, piping bags all sorts of misc
next to the cooker are pull outs that have spices and herbs, oils, vinegar plus tins of toms and beans.
One small cupd for cereal and the last cupd with food is a sort of overflow, stuff that used to go in the cellar, means I don't have to go downstairs.
I find it useful to have stuff grouped by type, In my old kitchen it was tricky, as I had to use every space, things were guided but where things would fit."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

I have a cupboard that i keep all my baking ingredients in that every time i open the door everything threatens to fall out of! I would like to organise it into labelled jars/tubs of some sort but i don't really know where to start. what are the best sizes to buy and does anyone have any recomendations for ones that seal well but don't cost the earth (as i'll have quite a few to buy!).
Also i have two base cupboards that go up against the side of the sink and the side of my larder...they are 2 doors deep but only one door so the back is not easily accessable IYSWIM. any suggestions for how i could make the things in the back/side more accessable?Or what do other people keep in their cupboards like this?I probably haven't explained it well!0
