As my nan used to say... you might want it but do you *need* it. ;)

Well, in December I wanted a whole new kitchen, lol. But having gone through every cupboard, got rid of shed loads of stuff and moved things into more sensible spaces, yes I think so. Kettle and toaster I can wait for. Breadbin is an urgent need - got 4 different loaves on the go and they just get left all over the place. They need a home.

Got lots of storage boxes with no lids and lots of lids with no boxes (where on earth do the missing pairs go?!). Round canisters and jars are a waste of space and don't stack very well. Want good, airtight tubs in useful sizes.

And even if the kettle and toaster I covet are expensive, they aren't as expensive as a new kitchen!!!

You're right about round containers and cannisters... I'm a lock & lock convert now for stuff that needs to be airtight.

Also, I got these free from Lakeland with my last big order:

    http://www.lakeland.co.uk/15649/Lakeland-10-Stack-a-Boxes-750ml

They are neat to store when empty and great for leftovers - but tomorrow, they will be in the garage and labeled for screws etc.

I must admit to having a bit of a storage box fetish... for all my pots of spices etc I use these boxes (not airtight) and can get four (2x2) on the top shelf of my cupboards. I've got some bigger ones on my window shelf (labeled of course) with all the attachments for my mixer:

A bread bin is one thing I don't have as I tend to use a bread bag and bread doesn't hang around long for us.

Happy hunting for your new bits n pieces.

I've only just made myself buy them... I kept thinking they were too expensive but I'm glad I did as they are brilliant the way they stack together.

Those little Lakeland boxes fit on top of each other in a similar way and stack really well. Really good for making the most of space in freezer / cupboards etc - I should be on commission... which reminds me, I really miss Tupperware!

Anyway, getting dirty looks from the OH so need to head off to bed.

    Nighty night.

My DD uses hers as an electronic cupboard! Whenever I need to warm milk up for the DGDs I have to empty the microwave of various Tupper boxes and casserole dishes! Hope she doesn't pick up on the bread idea too!!

I love the idea of chalkboard patches like this but thought I'd look into painting a square on the Christmas sweetie tins.

Didn't realise B&Q did a couple of other colours other than black.

So after we've moved house next month I may get out the masking tape and have a go.
  • if you fancy something a little prettier than masking tape try washi tape

Microwave in use a lot (softening butter, warming milk for DD, cakemaking etc), and it's a combination oven too, so that could be a bit dangerous if I filled it with flammables!
