Nuff said. I put all my 'wine' bits in one, my 'cooking' in another, my 'jam stuff' in another, savoury spices in another, sweet spices in another - you get the picture.
And when you go on hols, you can take one with 'tea and coffee essentials' and just slide it back into it's space when you get home.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Ever since I left home at 21 I have purloined an area in my homes to be a pantry cupboard. Usually the understairs cupboard. Unfortunately in this house we don't have a cupboard so I have put my shelves in the connecting garage. All my tinned food stuffs are arranged in type on them. I by between 6-24 cans of beans, toms, spaghetti at a time so utilise the carboard trays that the shops sell them on. All my tins of other food are there too, along with crisps, soup and mixes for meals. My fresh veg is also kept in there as it is dark and cool most of the time.
Food cupboards in the kitchen are packed by type, and I only keep food on one side of the room. Cereals and bread with biscuits etc kept in one top cupboard, with condiments (ketchup, jam, pickles etc) and gravy and spices in the top cupboard next to the cooker/prep area. And in a double cupboard by the back door I keep my pasta, rice, flour and all cake/baking ingredients. All these live in labelled plastic tubs and boxes, some are specially bought but some are just ice cream or marg tubs. I cut the name/label from packets and stick to my tubs with sellotape rather than use special labels.
I have a bit of a fetish for plastic storage recepticles and most things around the house have a box to live in from kids paint and craft items to gardening right up to bedlinen which is packed away in the airing cupboard!Donna
Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0 -
I just had a plumber visit and he needed to shut of the water, the tap is at the back of the kitchen cupboard I use for pots and pans. Of course when he opened it all the pans fell out in a heap and I realised not only was I not surprised but I was expecting it. it is the same in all my kitchen cupboards, there is no rhyme or reason, stuff just ends up randomly stacked. My sister has lovely regimented cupboards everything facing the same way and grouped in types and stacked neatly. Am I just a mucky minger or do others do the same.0

Ooooo wouldn't go as far as calling you a mucky minger. I'm sure you know where everything is stored so it's really just 'organised chaos' :rotfl:
I've a touch of OCD so the likes of plates are stacked in order of size...Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

No that's just normal.I'll take a photo of my plate cupboard, that is organised. My house is really organised I just can't be bothered to clean!0 -
Erm, I will admit to having at least 2 'avalanche' wardrobes and until yesterday, had 2 kitchen cupboards the same. Now I just have one as I was so fed up having to shut the door quickly before the whole lot came out, that I tidied one of them.
Great being able to find stuff in it now!!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

Mine are the same, the cupboard that the pots are kept in is horrendous the rest are not too bad at the moment only because every so often I sort it all out with the intention of keeping it tidy.
It usually lasts about a week and then it all goes back to a mess again.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

I am hopeless at keeping tidy cupboards but ever since I had a jar of beetroot fall out and smash covering 95% of the kitchen I am very cautious with the pickle cupboard.Slimming World at target0

Nah, don't think it's muckiness, just normal untidiness.
I've long since formed the opinion that, in the dark of the night, when the household is in Bedfordshire, Fings wot live in Cupboards have raves. It's the only logical explanation for the disorder which occurs behind closed doors.
I haven't found a satisfactory resolution, other than periodically dragging the contents out, smacking it upside the head, and replacing it tidily..................:)Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
