Organization of cupboards

You need to get zippychick round....she emptied my cupboards and made me organise them. They look fabulous now!

As this thread has dropped down the board I've added it to our existing one on organising kitchen cupboards where there is lots of advice and tips.

Didn't fancy taking my chances in the snow so thought I'd use my time to start on the kitchen... I've been putting it off since I promised to do it during the christmas break.

I used these labels:

Honestly, it's brought everything together... all my lock & lock, odd caddies, jars etc have now got labels on them and, because the blackboard theme is used on them all, it sort of pulls everything together.

I've also put some black plastic boxes that I got from Poundland on top of my eye level units (full of things I only use occasionally like the sandwich toaster and liquidiser) and I've written the contents on the outside with the chalk marker - which can then be cleaned off with a wet cloth.

Finally I've stuck a small magnetic blackboard on the fridge for shopping lists and messages etc.

I've just put a lock n lock box with a sticker on it into the dishwasher to test if they really can be washed without dropping off... I'll post back later.

Ooh, that's exactly what I was going to do. But I want new storage canisters, a breadbin, new kettle and toaster too!!!

You know, I really enjoyed doing it - it almost got obsessive... I think the cats were scared to stand still in case I slapped a label on them .

If you're near Hants / Surrey border and you can give me a supply of tea and choccie digestives then I might be tempted

I'm going to sort my spare room cupboards out tomorrow and then - if I've got enough labels - might move on to the garage.

I need to get a life :rotfl:.
