On YouTube you can even see them bothering neighbours asking "do you know the name of the person that lives there" that is against the harassment act, which prevents you damaging someone's reputation by calling things through the door or involving neighbours.0

Zapito Zapito Zapito, it is SO clear you work for TVL or BBC
Who are the WE, or who the HELL do you think you are?
That's your paranoia speaking Dave mate. I'm just a geezer, like you. Only possibly slightly more bonkers. Whatever, I've always taken BBC for granted. Just part of life. This has changed my view of things somewhat.
But if you start abusing me then you'll be just the same as what you think TVL are, and your increased credibility (in my head) will plummet.
==============================================Capita are complete scum as far as I am concerned, if they were not employed by the BBC Panorama would have sent in an undercover reporter to record their training to see that people are told to mislead and create FUD.
That would be interesting - good television. Maybe something could be done along those lines by Channel 4 or ITV perhaps.0 -
A bit off topic but the Capita lot were in action in my area as Census hirelings and were asking neighbours about households. Some prize YouTube offerings on that too - though it has to be said that some of those doing the filming were just spoiling for a confrontation.
I am TRULY surpised, you see Capita seem to think that the Data Protection act does not apply to them. Specifically, the DP tenet of PURPOSE, you provide your data for a PURPOSE and it is ONLY permitted to be used for that specific PURPOSE. You can inspect the register and see the purposes for which data will be used too.
So if a company collects your phone number to do a test of broadband in your area they are not allowed to call you back on that number later, especially if you opted out of calls on TPS, (are you listening TalkTalk??). If any company collects your data they have to disclose to you the purpose for which it will be used and they are NOT allowed to tick boxes on your behalf (pre-ticked).
I say I am surprised because before sending out their Goons CAPITA usually cross reference databases they manage for 3rd parties, they use this data to mail you (NOT a purpose you gave the original company the data for). For example an elderly friend of mine gave data to a company for a specific purpose. Capita shareholder services used that data to mail them, how did we know, a clerical error in the data and a reference number used. The only thing connecting the two organisations was CAPITA.
CAPITA misuse the credit referencing databases too, this is one of the most abused system in the country and something the information commissioner needs to investigate and regulate. The purpose of these system was to collect data on people using CREDIT, but some companies are abusing it by putting your data on it when no credit has been taken, just making payments of your bills.
This system allows users like CAPITA to misuse it by putting ALERTS on people, this feature is usually used by debt collectors to tell you when someone who has gone off radar resurfaces, but CAPITA use it to mail people they are trying to trace.
As there is NO RESPECT for your data the only answer is to never provide your real name on the voters role or census. It is perfectly legal for you to use a pseudonym as long as it is not for fraudulent reasons, I registered one with a lawyer, it simply says that in business I am using the name xxx xxxxx with clients.
This may affect your credit record but I do not use credit so have no need of that "1984" system, who wants to be their beeatch!!?
For the census I have much more fun, I fill it in at a movie character name, Luke Skywalker is one, I then put all kinds of weird data, I say my sex is transgender, I invent a religion to follow and just have fun with it. There is after all a reason why there are reference numbers on these forms.
Oh and just to let you know, your NHS data is also shared, not just the anonymous data that you have to OPT OUT at your GP but your full details (direct from the NHS spine). You can prove this for yourself, just amend your data with a small clerical error, put an extra initial in your middle name or just add a house name you your address, so 17 acacia avenue become Pebble cottage as house name and you still put 17 acacia avenue. The postman will ignore this but you only put it on your NHS record, then see where it gets shared over time.
When you opt out of having your anonymous data shared, also opt out of sharing to other NHS organisations, this will remove it from the spine, also when you opt out check back with the Practice Manager at your GP surgery that it is showing as opted out and ask for confirmation in writing. Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !0 -

C4 & C5 get their bit of fee and ITV do not do that kind of TV anymore agree, would be interesting.
I beg to differ, I am definately more bonkers and no paranoia (I do not even smole baccy never mind the weed), just my perception on how you seem to be their mouthpiece.
Bedsit B was just voicing a very real concern, there have been hundreds of videos on YT of TVL, you can see the internal memos of how they appeal to take them down (they use a 3rd party company and the emails were leaked).
Fact is that you have not experienced this yourself, you seem annoyed (you used stronger words) because you have to pay and others don't, how about you join them, don't put up with this !!!!!!.
In my experience there are a lot of people who struggle to make ends meet, they can't afford the TVL never mind Sky, if "the system" enables some to watch catch up, then good luck to them. The simple fact is that TVL have raped a fortune from BBC income and for what, to send some person who is not as lucky as you to prison because they can't afford the fine for not having a TV licence.
We have the technology to restrict viewing and the BBC has the ability to do it just as Sky does. They can encypty the broadcast on Freeview and send out a card to access it.
BTW I will be losing sleep thinking that I will lose credibility, honest! Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !0 -

If I needed a TV Licence, I would buy one, and I don't need (or appreciate) a monthly letter, threatening me with a court appearance, and a fine of "up to £1,000", for not having one.
Having had first hand experience of TVL doorsteppers, I wouldn't attribute much of their behaviour to fallibility, so much as intentionally underhand tactics.
I agree Capita goons have a script, that does not start with Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening Sir/Madam but with ARE YOU THE OCCUPIER, their letters spread FUD telling you that you need a license when you don't. Then you have the "what you will need in Court" bull !!!!!!.
In my ranking of scum Capita goons are not far behind debt collectors and people who used to clamp and tow on private land (but now issue fake invoices).
My neighbour is a youngish single female, the other day I heard him gain entry by saying in a loud voice that he was after the £350 debt she owed vodafone that now had a CCJ and with his fees and court costs was now over £1200. He gained entry because the law is supposed to say that once you LET them in they can come in again in the future, but they will force their way in or even enter via a door that is shut but not locked. It is this sort of scum tactic that I object to.
He was so loud I could still hear him shouting at her, as it happens she has a mental disability and is monitored by some carers. He caused her massive anxiety and I informed the people who support her to report this a-wipe). Even if she did not have the disorder, he was way over the top, it made me wish he had tried it on with me.
I do believe in Karma, I know these scum are pathetic in their own lives which is why they make such good Goons.
Did you ever see that fat fluck (said in Tony Soprano voice) from "can't pay won't pay" (I caught this at a friends house, disgusting how they make money from the misery of others). I mean the guy is so ugly that no woman would have him so he takes out his inadequacies on peope in his work. Just like a bully in the playground, just another insecure idiot taking it out on others.
At first I thought TVL could use a nice script, not try to trick people, then I thought bigger picture, they do not need to exist. There is no ROI in what they cost and the BBC can work smarter by using technology as Sky do. No need for ads, no need for goonsThanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !0 -

Isn't there a tiny element under the guise of "public service" programming that allows them to skim a bitThanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !0
