I'm getting along quite nicely as I am, thank you.

You are clearly feeling harassed and put-upon by those (IYO) awful TVL people. Somehow we need to find a way for you to achieve a state of peace and tranquillity.

Much of this stuff is already known.

Much of it, people might think they know. But they don't. But all means, venture your answers...

Only questions 1 and 9 have any remotely plausible answers in the public domain, AFAIK. In the case of question 1, I suspect that most of the public are misinformed (as, IIRC, you were, when we first started discussing this).

Most of the other questions I have put to BBC/TVL in one form or another, and received unconvincing answers (or indeed no answers) back from them.

The point is that they are questions that no legitimate organisation would be coy about.

But if you were to regularly use catchup to watch TV without a licence, solely as a means of avoiding the licence fee then, yes, I do regard that as morally dubious.

How about if you were to eat game, or salmon?

Should you buy a game/fishing licence, on the grounds you are consuming a product, which requires a licence to obtain?

What about people who drive classic cars?

Aren't they also "avoiding the licence fee"?

Yes indeed. It has been an educational tour de force.

Well, then, FoI must surely be the way forward, as they are legally obliged to give proper answers.

Now I am under orders - I have to go and fix a trellis.

Not to the general public I'm afraid, hence the number of people we encounter, asking for advice, having been subject to lies told them on the doorstep.

    Actually I'm not.

While I happily ignore them (and have a good laugh, when they get upset at being ignored), I still resent the implication that I'm breaking the law, and that I (along with many other law abiding people) are being sent monthly threatening letters.
Somehow we need to find a way for you to achieve a state of peace and tranquility.

I can assure you, I'm quite tranquil. Seeing them getting frustrated on the doorstep, while being ignored, is better than watching a comedy show.

    If only. :(

Well, to be second hand they're gonna be, what, five or ten years old?

    Old doesn't necessarily mean bad.

I've picked up some brilliant DVDs from Car Boot sales, and pound shops.

I got three of the Brendan Fraser, Mummy films for a pound each, and an excellent "based on a true story" film, called Fatal Love, from Poundland.

I even managed to pick up a Bluray of a horror film, Husk, from the same Poundland.

Also, for £3, I found Season 1 of The Big Bang Theory, brand new and unopened, on a car boot sale.

As, I believe, are TVL doorsteppers, but we know they often don't.
