OH NO - I've been naughty and ordered a new laptop. The apple macbook cost me £595 - I paid £300 of it with my own money, £295 went on my boyfriends credit card.

I think April & May will be a poor month now, need to save money after my little treat.

I'm going to list lots of items on ebay tonight to try and make at least £100 by next weekend, that will then go on paying my Barclaycard.

    Its definitely BAD

My current laptop is on its last legs, and i had some money set aside to buy a new one at the end of April. Unfortunately i couldn't wait so i stupidly asked my boyfriend if i could use his credit card until i get paid at the end of the month. I know i should of waited and paid for it all with money i actually had, but i kept telling myself i will have £295 at the end of April so why wait, but it now

As long as i pay it back at the end of the month and can pay my other monthly debt payments, I'm TRYING not to feel so guilty as i haven't actually added anything to my debt, but i could've reduced the amount.

Listed 26 items on ebay earlier, all to finish on Sunday, so hopefully loads of people will be bored next Sunday evening and buy my items :j

I thought it was about time to update my diary..

I now have my new laptop - its very lush, I must stop saying lush, I'm blaming that programme Gavin and Stacey hehe!

All week i have tried REALLY hard to be good, not spend any unnecessary money, and I have actually made an extra £56 doing a few hours overtime this week.

My ebay items are up to £65, that money is going to go straight on my Barclaycard.

Apart from that not been up to much this week, apart from work work work!!

Hi, NO! A new laptop is a good thing don't feel guilty think it as a way of making more money. You have to invest to get money back try doing click throughs (see Martins article) it could help you become debt free. Big Hugs!

I keep trying to tell myself with this new laptop which is 100 times faster, i can get A LOT more done in terms of comps, clicks, ebay etc, so really this laptop is my way to become debt free even quicker :j:j

Finally, i feel my debt finally getting smaller and smaller. Lately I've felt like this debt is never going to go, however much extra i pay it doesn't seem to be going down at all. Today i have made an over payment of £250 to Littlewoods, bringing my new balance once its cleared to £865.70 - thats the lowest its been in a LONG time.

Now its time to work on the Barclaycard - thats not going down at all as I'm still only making minimum payment, which soon vanishes once Barclaycard have taken interest every month.

Damn, trying to log into Barcalys online banking buts its saying service unavailable, I've not checked my bank balance in a couple of days so don't know if my balance is still looking healthy or not.

Weather permitting, i may do a carboot sale this weekend, i have sooo much stuff i need to sell, hoping to make at least £100, that can go straight towards my debts!!!

After reading a few diaries today and noticing people are using a spending diary online - i have now logged on the website and created my own spending diary - hopefully this will show me areas i could improve - probably stop buying so many blimming magazines I'm guessing!!!

I really need to be good the rest of this month, its still 12 days till payday and my funds are looking a lil tight after making the Littlewoods overpayment the other day, oh well, least having no money means i won't be spending money on things i probably don't need.

What with the weather getting a lil nicer I want to try and do more outdoor things with my boyfriend, id prefer outdoor things which cost nothing and are fun. I was thinking today maybe getting a bike? but then that means spending money, and at the moment i don't know if i could justify spending £200 on a bike. If anybody has any ideas which are free i would love to hear them.

Hayley have you tried, freecycle for a bike. It's worth a shot to look and join your local one. It may not be the latest model, but a bike is a bike to begin with. I used my local freecycle forum to find a replacement printer, when mine broke recently. Every little helps when you are trying to be DF.
