Genie thats the brand I seem to have settled on, the healing foundation in sand. The first lot I ordered were too light but the sand and the kitten are good matches for my medium toned skin.
The sand is yellow enough to kill a lot of the red so Im not really needing a concealer other then over broken veins. Its staying the distance on my face and best of all NO ITCHING
Hope it works for you0 -

If you are using "normal" foundation, how do you use that healing concealer? Because its just a powder, isn't it. If you put it on before, the foundation would just push it off, do you put it on after the foundation? Under or over the face powder?
Has anyone tried their loose powder?
Not the mineral foundation, but the powder, am I right in thinking that is one you can put over a "normal" foundation?0 -
Minerals arent a "powder" in the conventional sense. They are so fine that they are buffed into the skin, giving the coverage you need. So if you wanted to use the concealer you can easily do so BEFORE conventional foundation. Just take a dense brush, swirl some concealer up into it ( tiny amount ) and buff into the skin. When its buffed on it looks like ordinary foundation really, but its so light on the skin you dont feel like you are wearing any make up.
Finishing powders are used the same way as any powders really.I dip the top of the brush in, swirl and tap and just buff over my face putting most on my t zone. Mineral "powders" are so fine you can reapply throughout the day and not get caked.
If you are applying over a conventional foundation then do ensure your foundation is dry before you start0 -
i use this website because they sell base products as well as essential oils for aromatherapy and massage.
if you want to make your own face and body moisturisers, shower gels, bath oils, lip balms, soaps etc. they stock all this stuff and it's all natural, Paraben/CFS free. they're fragrance free natural base products so you can use them like that or add your own scent. and many of the products offer organic alternatives too - so you can get lavendar water or organic lavender water to use as a facial toner, for exmaple.
they only use good quality products and you can order online or by post. i've been using them for ages and love all their stuff as i have no reactions from any of it.
hope this helps.0 -
I really do hate to think what you are alluding to here????????
sorry - perhaps i WAS being a bit snooty about QVC, i guess i forget that there isn't the same choice of shops in some places as i have in london! no offence intended, sorry again.:o
you are right, i shouldn't bash QVC over other shops. to be honest, and at the risk of being jumped on again, it's more the 'spend to save' ethos of some MSE threads that i sometimes have a problem with, not any particular shop. i'm only speaking for myself here, but as a bit of a (recovering??) spendaholic i have learnt that there are some threads that i'm better off avoiding. the boots grabbit thread is a prime example - advice is no doubt well meant, but i ended up spending loads on over-priced boots junk that i didn't need, just to get more No7 freebies that i never actually use. these days i spend most time lurking over at the 'old style' thread which definitely saves me money!!"The Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed" - Ghandi0 -

We'll forgive you because we're nice
The way we all keep trying things doesn't always work out to be MSE - but its not all about getting the cheapest at all - not when you have the skin problems that I have! Its about finding the right stuff really!! And I hope that I am on the right course thanks to Suki, MrsE and the 'gang'!
Suki - I have high hopes of the elemental beauty - i think I ordered because you rated it or some other kind sole or even soul (been a long day). Said it didn't itch etc.
I'm holding back on using it for now . I also only have a kabuki brush and don't know with what to apply the concealer and don't really want to spend out anymore. I think I will def need concealer to start with until skin has settled down. Very red spot/rashy bits.......... ugh
Can one finger it on? If you pardon the expression...Genie

I just choked on my coffee :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Concealer - do you have an old lippy brush? or foundation brush? The brush i have is nylon and its great for the wee dabs. But for the larger areas I use the kabuki brush. And tbh the sand colour that I have found suits me is doing a great job of covering most of the redness across my cheeks and the sides of my face around the ear area (worse effected areas). Im just adding a bit of concealer around my nose and chin really.
I had to go out to the dentist today and seeing as I had a bit of a car smash yesterday my face was a mess(stress reaction) and I was dreading being seen so up close but the elemental beauty done its job and held out
Really hope it works for you0
