I'm itchy and patchy and fed up with additives in skincare, shampoos etc making me feel worse. I've searched high and low for suppliers of simple things like green clay or fullers earth, bees wax, base oils etc. I've asked at my chemist and they can't help, in fact they looked at me as if I'd gone mad, "why on earth would anyone want anything natural?"
Preferably as a one stop shop. Can anyone recommend any websites? Many thanks.

I've been doing a search for make up/moisturisers etc with allantoin in and notice that can buy it powder form from that site you mention - but lord knows how you would 'apply' it or make something with it. I work full time and don't get alot of free time at weekends.clevercardiffgirl wrote: »
Maybe the OP can find a quick way for me! Seems a great thing for bad itchy spotty skin. Healing and a barrier too. Google allantoin and see the different things said about it! I'm still searching............:DGenie

I have NO idea. I'm only just starting out myself, so I'm looking at keeping things as simple as possible at the moment. Good luck in your search though. I've discovered various soap making forums, so maybe you coud look for advice there.0

I'll pass on any info I get - have got a thread going - Miss Marple it starts - may be helpful - lady 'veronarona' has lots of info, she was the one that told me about allantoin. You could be onto something and start marketing some ok stuff soon! So many of us are itching all the time! And we've not got fleas.........:DGenie

Please don't bank on me lol. The more research I do the more confuzzled I become eek! eek!
Seems like we are from the same county. It's funny , my sig on another forum used to be "Home of the white stilletto" !
So far I've made some "soap stew" for shampoo from a recipe in The Fragrant Pharmacy. I only made it last night, so I haven't tried it out yet. I've also been using sweet almond oil as a moisturiser morning and evening since Monday and my skin feels less tight and no bad reactions, so far so good. I'm still using Liz Earles Cleanse and Polish cos I love that stuff and it doesn't irritate me. But when I get the ingredients together I'm going to try a totally natural cleanser too.0

I keep reading about liz Earles stuff. I get itchy even with plain water! I wonder sometimes what it is all about!
I know that in Summer I'm ok or better. It's not a woman's prob, as son gets majorly itchy too. My dad used to. It seems like a hereditary thing, which doesn't help as we still don;t know why! or what!
When you get bad flare ups - especially on face, it just feels so very depressing........
I'm hoping this mineral concealer with Allantoin arrives tomorrow... I know I should wait for a bit perhaps to try it, but it may really help, and i would like to go out this weekend........
Tried mineral make up couple of weeks back - see tail end of Sheer cover thread!!!
Still feel that is the way to go if get the right ingredients. It felt so nice - at first!
Just don't want to make any more c*ck ups - costs too much!Genie

Its not cheap, but its not anything like so of the real expensive stuff.
