Good Luck with using your BM!
Thanks so much for these instructions, I too have a Tesco BM but no manual - mine was in Turkish :-)). Could you kindly email me a scanned copy? I would be very grateful! I have contacted Customer Service but so far no positive reply.
I am new to this forum so I'm not sure how to PM.

I had a breadmaker before. I remember it made quite nice, quite big loaves that were ok for a couple of days.

I make my own bread by hand, but I don't always have time so have a breadmaker on a timer so it can take advantage of my cheap night electric.

I've just (last christmas) bought myself a new breadmaker from tesco's and i don't know what i'm doing wrong.

i'm using 00 flour (high gluten for pasta so should be ideal) I normally use alison yeast, but have tried 3 or 4 different types and costs of yeast now and have tried a load of different recipies.

The bread doesn't seem to rise very well, but also doesn't seem to be dense, and it's hard/stale by the time it's cold.

any suggestions or any reciepies to try that have been tried and tested on the tesco breadmaker (white, cheap last christmas)

I've tried several off here from other threads, but this breadmaker just defeats me.
One of the hardest of all life lessons is this:

Just because I feel bad doesn’t necessarily mean someone else is doing something wrong.

Just because I feel good doesn’t necessarily mean what I am doing is right.

Firstly, I'd try using regular bread flour :) If that works then try the pasta flour.

Post up the recipe you use and we can see how it looks.

I agree-why not try simple bread flour for starters?

I use a simple flour, water and yeast mix which has never failed - 750g flour, 450ml water and a sachet of yeast. This is the basic bread recipe from River Cottage. If I want it to stay soft a little longer, I add a little butter or oil.
