Anyone got a Tesco Bread Maker?

I bought one of these and have really enjoyed using it. However I've somehow misplaced my recipe booklet and have a huge favour to ask, could some kind soul scan the recipe/instruction pages of the booklet for me? I've hunted everywhere and can't find mine. I can remember how to do white bread but I really wanted to do some wholemeal and Granary.0

And the last 2 days. Heavy , leaden bread. Bought fresh ingredients, and made a loaf an hour ago. The loaf is going to the ducks at Goodrington. I have phoned Tesco, and they are collecting my breadmaker for credit just after Christmas. I shall clean and rebox ready today, and go back to handmade loaves, for the Christmas period. Tesco have been great. I am really sorry the machine does not do it for me. Regards0

Thanks Sharon, this will be my next loaf.
Another disaster today, (I didn't open the lid this time, honest!) I was baking a granary loaf from a ready mix - two for £1 at Asda. It rose beautifully but, the next time I looked (through the glass window) the top had collapsed and sunk in!!
Hey ho!
Sue
Exactly the same has been happening to me! I've got 2 of them in the cupboard and 4 or the wholemeal ones (yuk! - like chewing brick - probably me though). Each time I cook one of these they look gorgeous and then suddenly the dome shape on the top goes concave...... so disheartening!
Also, is it me but the loaves I get from this machine are tiddly! They never seem to reach the top of the tin. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
Anybody had any bother with the temperature of water for activating the yeast too much or too little?
I've been doing the Oatmeal and Honey recipe I came across yesterday and the second one is cooling as I type (first one was a disaster..... but that's another story) and same again....... why doesn't it go right to the top of the tin? Some of these recipes are for 900g loafs and I only get half sizes. Is it me???
Ideas anybody?:D0 -

Isn't this the same thread that you are on??
I haven't got to the last thread on page 15 yet as I've been reading most of the comments but this is definately the thread I'm reading only it's page 1..... unless somebody has joined them together?

OH bought a breadmaker as he wanted to help me... he bought the Tesco BMS1.
I've given it a few goes, followed the instructions to the letter, exact measurements. BUT the bread comes out (risen and the right colour/texture) for one half of it and the other half is a hollow open-ended cavity - which is inedible and if I were to throw it to the ducks they would sink!!
The hollow cavity isn't the end where the mixing blade is, I expected that, but this is the other end to where the blade is! I can't understand what is going wrong?
We're thinking of returning the breadmaker to the shop but if its something we are doing wrong, if we can avoid returning it, the better. Unless its a problem with the breadmaker itself, of course!
Has anyone used this breadmaker? Or can anyone shed some light as to what
we could try? Any advice appreciated!!
You could try putting the paddle in? Just a thought.0 -

From Tesco BM - 3 loaves - first was sunk at the top - I think that the yeast was too close to the sugar or salt, so next time I put these two ingredients into the water, and then all the flour with the yeast on top - and hey presto - two perfect loaves, one of which had been set to wait to run in the early morning - and what a lovely smell to walk into the kitchen !
My real question, out of interest, is that I weighed one finished loaf and it was 600g ( using 700g recipe ). Does this sound correct ? I tried googling on "bread maker weight loss", and got a load of stuff about dieting, ( which I don't need ).
How much cheaper is the flour at Lidl ?0 -

I would assume that the weight difference is through water lost during the baking process. Otherwise you'd end up with a lovely loaf of dough.I have no signature.0 -
