Just a quick hello as Ive been to work. Its gale force winds here and snow/sleet showers. Just glad Im home and out of it.
Hugs to everyone who needs them will try and catch up properly tomorrow. Having an early night I think my extra shifts have caught up with me.
Happy Easter Flyers0 -
evening.
soblivion that costume is fab. hope your DS enjoys his party.
lil-me hope you get your early night, and hope that is your 3 things.
mudbath i hope you all feel a bit better tomorrow. Wonder if you have something like what i have, as i was fluey, now coldy, very sinusy and headachey. Nothing but time seems to be shifting it - now over a week.
We had a lovely afternoon with my friend and her DH. DS didn't go for a nap, so we were expecting him to be mardy, but he was very sociable and entertaining, and as we hadn't seen them since their wedding last year it was good to have a long natter.
Me and DH are both shattered this evening, so we will need an early night tonight. Tomorrow we are having the wardrobes delivered ready to have them fitted next week, and i still need to get easter eggs as morrisons only had huge ones for a tenner each or tiny one for 97p, and i don't want to appear too tight, but i certainly don't want to be any more skint. I did suggest we got a big one between 2 of the nephews, but DH told me brothers will not share.
I think i will just have a quick catch up on here, then bath and bed with my book.
ok - done some jobs off the list while online - paid BIL for FIL's 60th birthday pressie, ordered DH's friend a wedding present, and checked online banking, and yes we are skint till payday. best get saving some pennies hadn't i.

Snow???? I don't want it!! Like pigpen, I think it's horrid stuff. Anyway, winter is over, and spring is here. If it snows, I'm hibernating.
hex - I'm still giggling about the seedlings. Were they in a propagator? No wonder the cats were lying on them! The kitten was just adding some extra nitrogen and fertiliser... I sowed another 15 pots of perennial seed that I was sent from the Hardy Plant Society. Half of them I've never heard of, as they were a random selection of seeds left over at the end of the seed distribution. I shall pass on any successful seedlings at our seedling swap in April.
dustykitten - wow, you got loads done today! It was so cold here, I didn't want to stay outside at all! I did a quick walk round the garden to admire the primroses and other flowers, and then retreated to the greenhouse!
AnW's mum - we're hoping to go Jun 23rd-25th, after their exams finish, and just before the intro week for 6th form. I'm just ringing round their parents to make sure they're all right with it, and when I get all the passport information, I shall book - probably Tuesday. I do hope Santander is as nice as it looks on the pictures on Google. My vote was for Montpellier, but the only flight was 6am, and I've grown out of sleeping at airports...
I have done the cloakroom and bathroom today. Added so that this post is relevant to the thread...
michelle - enjoy your long weekend! It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
I love freecycle
I've been clearing stuff out using it (going to have to contact some people by phone to see if they can come tomorrow to collect due to time wasters  ) but thought on the off chance, since I only own about 2 pairs of jeans and 4 tops that are suitable to wear ATM and fit me, I would post a request for some clothing from size 16-20 and already I've had an offer of some items and the lady has even said she'll drop them off for me since I have no transport
:j:money: I desperately need to expand my wardrobe, and I'm sure I can adjust stuff, redye and using my sewing machine so I will end up with some pretty unique clothing to go with the new Nicki
:D Talk about old style methods with a modern twist
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Evening ladies.
Well, I've had mainly a lazy day. Did bake a cake (for tea sat. afternoon when lil bro and family pop in) before I went to DiL's parents for lunch. The lunch was yummy - salmon cooked in saffron and garlic etc. and rice with dill and black eyed beans and strawberries and cream and allsorts of dips etc. to start. I'm still full from it so didn't bother with any dinner or even tea tonight.
And, like a lot of you, I am v. pooped this evening. Was ready to go to bed at 8pm but decided that was too early so settled myself down in front the TV and watched the Poirot film (The Blue Train). Hadn't seen that for a while so it was nice.
But, I'm off to bed now and think I'll sleep soundly. Forecast is looking like even us on the south coast may have a sprinkling of snow tomorrow.
Have a good evening ladies and sleep tight.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Sorry serena, that snow might be on it's way to you now....I promise I wasn't blowing to make it go. Still here but not 'sticking' so my boys were not impressed that they couldn't get the sledge out. First day of spring? :rotfl: **passes blankie for hibernating**
My dogs are not impressed at being kicked out in the cold to do anything, in fact the last one I had to chase the youngest round first to get him out of the door. He'd literally hold it in until the weather changes I know he would. At least it means a day of almost hibernation for me, they're not interested in going out in this, they just want to snuggle (Luke on the sofa where he shouldn't be) in the warm. Megan was even pawing the gas heater before so I put the radiators on to keep her happy (she paws the fan in the summer) I'll be honest I'd prefer to just snuggle under a blanket but DP will no doubt moan if he comes in and it's freezing. Oh, early night, well I can't go too early as these 2 need letting out, I will get DP to let them out when he gets home aswell, always aware of Megans age and not being good to wait to 'go'
Just started the DW off which is in fact cleaning better since we pulled it to bitsSpoke to DP about the issue with the drier, he thinks we'll be better calling them out because of the 2 error codes, I'm being tight and telling him to try first
Think I will have another game on Mahjongthen bed time......night night everyone
One day I might be more organised...........

Had a lovely day, our old neightbours came down from Wales for the day, the kids loved seeing them again, we went to a NT place and had a fab if rain sodden picnic and the kids did the Easter egg hunt. We went to the same place last year with them and it was lvoely to see all the kids playing on the same stuff but just that little bit bigger.
Food wise I have been very good today:
B: oatibix and skimmed milk
L: pasta salad, couscous and green salad
S: 1/2 a cripsie cake (that DD didnt finish)
chickpea and lentil caserole (leftover from yesterday), cous cous and salad, WW choc mousse and a glass of wine
(Its really helping writing it on here BTW, thanks again soappie)
This is very good considering we have a hose full of vv yummy bread. DH went to Asda this morning to buy food for the picnic. There were 4 adults, 4 children under 5 and a baby. He bought 34 baps :rotfl: and 12 hot cross buns:rotfl: and one of those massive long french sticks. Tortilla chips and 3 tubs of hummous, 2 large tubs pasta salad, 2 tubs cous cous, 20 slices of presliced cheese, 30 slices of ham/chicken and 20 cocktail sausages(he and I are veggie
), potato salad, coleslaw, oh I could go on ....:rotfl: :rotfl:
As for cravings:
with DS - chicken supernoodles (I am a veggie  )
with DD1 - galaxy chocloate
with DD2 - McDonalds fries - the drive-thru lady got to know me and still asks after the baby:rotfl: Their chips was all I ate for 4 months, everything else came back up and they made me feel unsick just long enough to drive to collect kids from preschool. And hence the weight problem now LOL
soappie - champagne and chips :rotfl: :rotfl:
serena - great idea about noting down downturns of mood to see if there's a pattern, thanks
hex - that cake sounds great, really healthy, will try that, thanks
nicki - love the idea of one weight loss goal at a timeGood luck !! Have updated list ready for next week. And (((hugs))) for you, you are having a rotten time, wish I could help you feel better about everything
Also, I have a couple of size 18 tops that you are welcome to, they are in my "to go" pile, to be freecycled or whatever. If you want them PM me your address and I'll bung them in the post for you
Mudbath - Glad the list helped, I thougt it was great to see all our collective losses! What a bunch of losers :rotfl: And I am so with you on the I MUST NOT EAT EASTER EGGS mantra. Went to WW last night and the chat was all about how evil the easter eggs are. She had about 12 eggs and we had to put them in order of least evil to most evil (based on the WW points system). Well, the most evil one was 56 points which is enough for 2 or 3 days of food for a normal person
poohbear - have added you to weight loss list, well done so far, thats great :j I've put you down as 2 lbs so far as am counting losses from 19/20 March , hope that is okLet me know if you have a goal you want me to add.
lg - have alse added you to list. well done on finding dress and shoes :jthey are gorgeous
soblivion - that Jedi costume is wicked! What did you make the robe-y bit out of ?

When I was putting the eggs away after my Mr T shop, I suddenly remembered something from my childhood Easters. On Easter saturday, we would wrap raw eggs up in onion peelings that Mum had saved. We'd then wrap each egg with its layer of peelings in a bit of old sheeting and tie it up like a parcel. We'd then boil the eggs. When they were unwrapped after cooking, the shells would be all mottled a beautiful shade of brown.
Did anyone else ever do anything like that?
Soappie - we did. We also put food colouring in as well0 -
