TracyG - Sorry you are feeling so down. People let you down and they have no idea what they have done. Have you got any playgroups near you? I never took dd1 to any, though she did go to creche, needs must! I take dd2 to one on a monday morning, only day off and she loves it and I get to chat to 'adults'. Where I work I am normally in alot on my own, dh works offshore, so when he's away and the boss isn't in at work I don't have much adult conversation either and I know how it can get you down.
It's worth a try, you never know you may find that the girls there are a great bunch and you will start making good friends as well. Also good for little one to find one near school they will be attending so that they will know some other littlies when they start.
Need to sort my life out! :T

    Evening everyone.

Another day bites the dust. Have been quite productive - emptied the bathroom bin before going to work. Not otherwise done any other house work.

But, DS taken to nursery, marked a whole class plus 6 kids coursework, marked some y8 books, taught y10 (or rather let them watch the Simpsons movie), did 2 x lesson observations for the student teacher, so generally speaking another step closer to leaving work.

DH has been a star and cooked dinner (chicken fajhitas), checked out the warning light on my car which was apparently a brake light out, so he has changed that, and is now doing something upstairs decorating wise. Bless him. HE's shattered as well as i kept him awake a lot with my coughing and night time wanderings.

lil-me congrats for your DS's and for the ou results

summermoon big hugs and condolences to you.

tracey hope the funeral is not too difficult tomorrow. ILs eh, can't live with or without them.

soappie glad your car trauma was not as expensive as you feared.

ANyway, was going to try and do a load more school stuff this evening.

I think what i will do is:
install the 2 computer discs i brought home from work so i can take them back tomorrow
try to mark 5 pieces of coursework
    go to bed.

That's all from me tonight folks.

    x

    evening everyone

Been at work today and managed to keep up with the posts until lunchtime but missed most of this afternoons so have only just caught the last few.

Massive hugs to SummerMoon - I know how you feel we lost nanny a couple of weeks ago, going to bury the ashes next week with my dad.

And hugs to Mudbath - saw many wrists that didnt heal when I worked in the ortho department so fingers crossed for the next stage for you.

No flying tonight but had caught up nicely over last 2 days so thanks to Pigpen for the dog biccy (and no littlemeister didnt help - she's being a little madam again but still wants me to make her a costume for school trip on thursday!)

Have spent most of the evening looking for the instruction manual for my old stereo which DS has decided he wants. Its been in the attic for about 5 years and isnt working, and I know I saw the manual recently when I was going through some paperwork - but WHERE! I have so much paper carp I now know I must rid of it, its everywhere, spare room, bedropom, attic, and I've got about 5 box fulls under the eaves in my bedroom. And the attic desperately needs sorting as well, its huge and you cant move in there.

Well I guess i must go hunting for wartime clothing pictures that the kids have to dress up in for thursday, then make something tomorrow.

    So plan
    Find pics
    Make lunches for tomorrow
Early bed as tomorrow will be late night !

Will say good night now as not coming back tonight
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Tracyg - sorry you're feeling down. When I first had DD1 I felt like I knew no-one and have always been very shy. I decided to do something about it and go to toddler groups, postnatal groups, baby massage - anything at all. Get in touch with your local council and they can send you a list of things going on in the area or speak to your Health Visitor.

It was hard talking to people I didn't know as I'm very self concious (probably due to the bullying I suffered in school) and always feel like everyone will think I'm saying something stupid (hence the reason it took me about 6 months to post anything on any thread on this site), but I kept telling myself 'If I can push a baby out I can say Hi to someone new' or 'If I can push a baby out I can invite someone round for a coffee & for the kids to play'. Probably sounds really stupid to think things like that but it worked for me. Now I have an amazing group of friends - 3 good ones in particular but lots of other friends too. This has also been a real advantage for both my girls. The 5 year old started pre-school knowing at least 2 children in her class and started school knowing many more so settling in was never a problem and she is very sociable too - a real life skill. Sometimes you have to just put youself out there and you may be surprised with the results.

Ok, now I've told you all my secrets / made myself look like an idiot / bored you beyond belief (you choose which) you've got to do something about it or I've done it in vain! We're all behind you here.

Right, enough of the lecture - watching the rest of Holby (sky +'ed it) and do HHI.

    ((((Summermoon))))))

Soapie - well done to you - I'm very jelous of your completed list!

we've got the camera but to play the kinetic game you need a full vision lens attachment that attaches to the eye camera. i didn't realise you needed one when i bought it on ebay and you can't seem to buy them separately. really annoying but my fault as i didn't research it. xx
