Old toothbrush if it's to get at the fiddly bits.
Oppps get ya now...wouldn't have a clue.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
JustaMum very good point, DS2 didn't seem to want to learn when he was at the other school, his self esteem after getting things like 0-2 out of 10 for a spelling test I think just set in his head he was going to fail regardless. I used to work with him endlessly at home to try to bring him on but he thought he couldn't do it.
I recently went to see my DS's teacher. He didn't give me the form to fill in for a proper appointment where I could get to see his books etc then see the teacher. Anyway when I did pop in to see how he was getting on she told me he is about in the middle for his numeracy (so why is he telling me he is finding it too easy?), he's not doing too well on his spelling tests, he needs more practice with his reading. She told me if he doesn't do better he will be in "special needs"! :rotfl: I had trouble keeping a straight face. I may be biased, but I know he's a bright boy - asks intelligent questions, obviously understands what he is learning due to comments and observations he makes to us. So I went home and listened to him reading - he's very fluent, even with hard words, granted he's not been getting 10 out of 10 for his spelling tests, but that's probably our fault for not insisting he sits every night learning them. In fact he learns them very quickly and since has been getting full marks with no real effort. The problem appears to be the teacher. I've heard from other parents that she can be vindictive to some children for no real reason, and my son doesn't like her either.
His teacher last year had appalling spelling and grammar. I had to bite my tongue because I didn't want it to be taken out on him. What teacher writes in a child's book "you have wrote . . ."?
A parent knows their own children best and if your son is doing well now then it was probably the teaching environment more than the child that was at fault. A child needs to learn in an environment which encourages and interests them. Obviously your son is getting that at this school. Perhaps he's actually more than averagely intellingent? Often they get so bored at school that they can actually be left behind because they aren't paying attention.

Right no being thrown out into the garden yet as we can't get past the door as our hall is now DD's bedroom so gonna get it cleared. DS2 said i had to tidy it by myself because i'm good at tiding.:rotfl: He's in for a shock.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0

I am so trying to get out :rotfl:
I asked DH as he knows a bit about metal but without seeing it he was struggling to think what it was.
All I can say is that if it is Ally be really gentle with it. It will go white if you use something too strong (don't ask me how I know this!)
I have no ideaI've tried my diluted mix of stardrops and white vinegar with a toothbrush, but I'm thinking it needs something stronger.

I hate to suggest something expensive (but I remember how much it cost to replace the hob burners) http://www.lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx/!7247 (it works on loads of metals) I can give you more info later. If you can wait until later I could try and get some more info on what it could be so you know what is best to use?
Sorry I really need to go...0 -
Right - what I have achieved today:-
Killer Kitchen - Tuesday
It appears to be a short list today but some of the tasks are quite substantial
Level One
[STRIKE]Clear and wipe work surfaces[/STRIKE]
Level Two
[STRIKE]Sweep and Mop the floor
Wipe the cupboards, appliances and all those manky corners!![/STRIKE]
Level Three
[STRIKE]Wipe the table, replace cloth if needed[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Clean all those small appliances. Empty crumbs out of the toaster, scrub the microwave, descale the iron and kettle, shine the breadmaker, polish the slowcooker.[/STRIKE] Well I did the toaster. I don't have a microwave, breadmaker or slowcooker, and we don't have hard water so nothing to descale!
[STRIKE]Take EVERYTHING out of the fridge give it a deep clean.. including shelves and drawers!![/STRIKE]
Extras- [STRIKE]Clean oven/hob if you must.. *rolls eyes*[/STRIKE] Just needed a quick wipe
- [STRIKE]HHI .. with your clean iron!![/STRIKE] Did my ironing yesterday
- [STRIKE]Clean windows and sills[/STRIKE]
Also vacuumed upstairs
mopped bathroom floor
cleaned shower
WMx2 - put yesterday's out, then brought it in when it rained for the second time.
TD x 1 - towels.
Need to put washing in TD
Ate all the plums from the fridge :rotfl:
Went shopping (and went over my month's budget . Again.)
Went to get a quote for repairing the car. Should be about half the quote DH got yesterday.

CB - dont worry!! They havent been cleaned for years. Another week or so isnt going to harm me. The good news is that I've been using the stardrops/vinegar diluted mix and lots and lots of elbow grease and some of it is shifting. I wouldnt mind buying the exensive stuff if I thought it would work0 -
