Just found a massive post that I typed out the other day and never clicked Submit. Its all a bit irrelevant and out of date now. Anyway (((hugs))) to those in need, hope everyone's weeks going well.

I had a great day shopping yesterday in London with my friend from school. DH took the afternoon off :j and looked after the kids. My friend and I had a fab time shopping and eating LOL Bought a new dress for this weeding we have to go to in May, well2 actually, couldn't make my mind up so will try them on with the propert shoes etc at home.

Its worn me out though, I am shattered today so might skip flying, not sure yet.

Afternoon all (it will be by the time I press "post")

    Well done lil-me

Hope your car isn't too expensive to mend Soappie

Tracyg - I work evenings cleaning. I started when my children were small. They're all grown up now and I could work days but I like my days to myself and it's nice to meet other people in the evenings. I don't have any friends either.

Two loads of washing done and dried, just put the throws in to wash.

No real cleaning done, I did a double lot yesterday, but I've put all the Asda shopping away and done some paperwork/shredding/filing.

Got a banging headache again, still coughing but my sinuses are bad again. Bum.

This is going to sound like a really dumb question...

... at what age did you let little people loose with proper plates? MIL wants to go to i*ea (sorry Mudbath!) and I was thinking about getting some cheapies. I guess it is kinda like me still picking the grapes from the stalks for them :o they are big enough to do these things themselves. Mum just needs to get to grips with that

about.. 14.. seriously.. my 13 year old still has a plastic plate!

    Afternoon,
I haven't really done anything else since I last posted, well I've hoovered a bit, but its conked out now, so I'm not finished...also sorted out some washing....
I've been and had coffee with a couple of friends, they live next door to each other and their houses couldn't be more different!! One makes me feel like like my house is lovely...and the other makes me start a DIY list!!!
Anyway..I'm trying not to get stressed about it and just clean and tidy instead.
I'm going to make a start on lunch now and dream about how my house could be!

If it were only the girls I wouldn't think twice they would have proper plates... but I am not entirely sure ds gets the whole "if you drop it, it will break into sharp bits" thing... and he tends to start the messing around at the table business then the other 2 join in

It is just I never remember anything other than a proper plate and if I dropped it omg mums (ex) bf would have had me for supper :rotfl: (he has mellowed with age - lol the kids get away with loads more than I ever did!)

Thank you, you're all going to make me blush in a minute :o I'm still on a high about it.....:D Fingers crossed for you g&b.

arwenwolf - with the light switch off try a dry cloth first, if it doesn't work ONE spray on the cloth of some sort of cleaner or a very slightly damp cloth.

vanilla, hope the dentists goes ok...

skintscotlass well done to your Mam :D

JustaMum very good point, DS2 didn't seem to want to learn when he was at the other school, his self esteem after getting things like 0-2 out of 10 for a spelling test I think just set in his head he was going to fail regardless. I used to work with him endlessly at home to try to bring him on but he thought he couldn't do it.

ChasingButterflies, mine have had proper ones since we moved, before that they did use them before then, from about 3 years old but prefered the 'kids ones' we haven't had one breakage from them carrying them, they were 8 and 6 when we moved. I'd say take the chance. My boys are much more careful knowing it's breakable, less dinner accidents on the floor :D only one I have to be careful of is if they 'throw them in the sink' I think that's been the only time we've had something break was in the sink. Dare I admit the other breakages (several) were my fault, apart from one which was DPs :o I'm useless, completely clumsy, I always spill my dinner down my front too.

Just scoffed my lunch while I tried to catch up with you all a little. I've done quite a bit but yesterdays lack of sleep is starting to catch up with me, I might have to go have a snooze as DP wants me to help tonight and I'll be asleep by 7pm at this rate. I'll sort through the bank accounts book first, the backpay we were waiting for has gone in slightly earlier, today :D because of the 24th being a Bank Holiday so will see where the accounts stand and what I can pay a bit earlier.
One day I might be more organised...........

Back from the job center and I've got an interview on the 9th May to see about starting a classroom assistant course - thats the soonest they can see me  Another appointment (just because I have to attend another one:confused: ) on the 9th April at the job center. That ontop of me starting a personal finance course with the OU in May looks like I'll have to get my bottom into gear over the next few weeks to get this house sorted and organised how I want it, not to mention get loosing some more weight (on target but want it off ASAP :rotfl: ) and the ebay stuff OUT OUT OUT :rotfl::rotfl:

Right, now DD has finished making her own lunch I think I will crack on with contacting OU about the finance application which I need them to send me, and then with the kitchen  I didn't wash up last night as I was too tired, but at least I put the pans and cutlery in to soak in HOT water ;) Right, OU website.....
