tracy.. ((((hugs)))).. it is totally demoralising to be let down like that but there will be something perfect out there for you! Go to the interview.. if nothing else it is experience and will build your self esteem anyway.. if you get offered the job reconsider your options there and then.. there may be a compromise if they are impressed with you. Something will turn up.. and if you don't actually 'need' the money and want to do this for yourself then does it matter if most of the money goes on nursery/childminder fees??

  • Hi everyone,

Tia - Why not try phoning up Ayr College and see if they are thinking of offering the course you like as an evening/flexible learning course? They haven't put up what they are offering yet - although I know the last time I looked they seemed to have a really good range of (evening/flexible) courses.

Soappie - I am so glad you arrived home safely (eventually!) and are feeling better this morning!

Lil_me - wtg for your ds's!! well done to Mum too!!!

jjef - Has your solicitor asked what your buyers problem is? (sorry that sounds so daft but if you know what their problem is - you know what you are dealing with...) MIL very kindly took in 30 boxes and a few bits of furniture the last time we had to sell. Do you have anyone who might be willing to do the same? (or perhaps one of these self store places?) Keeping my fingers crossed for you - I vowed we would never move again - too stressful!

Nicki - wow! what a transformation - you are welcome round here anytime ;)

Tracyg - (hugs) nothing worse than organsing something and then being let down at the last min... and with all the extra stress of a job interview - not fair of your MIL to behave like that. Is there anything you could do that would mean that you wouldn't *need* her help? although there could be a wee bit of the green-eyed monster there... which could be why she is behaving that way?

Well replacement cooker delivered damaged again *sobs* Although I think we may be able to fix and tbh I cannot live without a cooker any longer so I think with a bit of enamel paint we might be able to sort the problems and the dent on the side shouldn't be visible once it is in. Although I am quite proud of myself (because I avoid any sort of confrontation at any cost) but the man didn't want to hand over the paperwork for me to mark the damage (I can understand why) but I got it and I did. So the company we ordered from phoned up and offered us 10% off the price paid... since the chances of them delivering another without damaging it seem to be slim to none I think we will take it. Although it is stupid that I get so stressed about these things...

Ramble over, off to find my list!

First TMA results arrived!!!! Pass mark is 40............I got................76 :j pleased I passed, over the moon that I passed with points to spare :D as the first few assignments go off the average score to pass so that's some 'safety points' just incase..

DP got 81 but we'll not dwell on that, he's done a lot of it recently when he did his HNC, last time I studied anything like this was 15years ago, however does prove we don't just copy everything.

ChasingButterflies, sorry to hear they've damaged another one. Makes me wonder sometimes if they ever get anything right, we had a nightmare with our FF. Booked for Wednesday actually to hopefully deal with the persistant error messages.

One day I might be more organised...........

  • Morning all - bright but chilly here.

Hugs to Traceyg. I work 4 evenings per week in a local grocery/off licence and it's fab for chatting to people coz it's mostly locals, but as we live in a popular holiday town, I get to chat to loads of interesting holidaymakers, plus the odd celebrity! It's so cool, non-taxing on the brain and is time to be "me", not "mum" or "somebody's OH". The downside is I miss bathtime/reading book/putting to bed rituals 4 nights per week, but the silver lining is, OH has to do his bit (although he is very hands on for the most part if REMINDED lol!), plus he does the pack ups for next morning. If I was here 7 nights, it might not be shared so evenly.

I was also working yesterday at the private house (don't know if you remember that I'm a housekeeper) so there house is spotless, however, mine is ...... not!

So ..... gonna tackle 2 days worth, although it's the school Easter service this afternoon, but we'll see.

I notice Lil_me is doing admin. I think I might add a new category to the list if nobody minds - HHA - half hour admin. This is the time for opening the post, checking emails, online banking, dealing with bills, writing/stamping envelopes to post and FILING THAT DAY'S POST!!!!! Woo - that would be a first! I seem to have a hot spot of paperwork just about everywhere which needs sorting, recycling, filing, shredding and I just can't face it all in one go, so that's my new category - anyone up for HHA right now. Of course, it also includes checking the forums - that's oligatory, but with only half hour, it might focus me a bit more.

Anyone up for HHA then starting 10.30 - 11.00? Readly, steady, GO!

Thanks lil_me, Daughter very upset and mixed feelings. Because of the circumstances of the death the the rumour mill has started allready. His brother has been to see my daughter. My grandsons were still in contact with him even though he is not their dad. Eldest grandson has been asked to assist at the funeral this may not be till next week. The strange thing is he has been in my mind for a week. I never really thought about him as he left years ago. What kept coming into my mind was the time he got stabbed with a samuri sword. I kept thinking of this.

    Tracyg Big hugs to you.

Dailies done and up to level 3 on the list.

    Meet daughter.
    Get shopping
    See mum
    Go to vol job

Pigpen - thanks for the dog biscuits ! Yay!
Lil-me - v. well done on your marks

Right, what have I done so far
    • I've cleared up the debris from the late stir fry last night (was too out of sorts to wash up them).
    • Put the BM on - will finish v. soon then I can have some breakfast - or maybe I'll make it brunch
    • Folded up washing that was drying on the airer in the kitchen and put airer away.
    • Got some lamb steaks out of the freezer, defrosted them, cubed them and they are now in the slow cooker with some root veg for dinner tonight
    • One load of washing done and out on line - another load just gone on
    • Emailed off my invoice
    • Left feedback on ebay for the items I posted last night before the car died.
    • Refilled the bird feeders
    • Got really excited when I was chopping the carrots to spot two great tits investigating the bird boxes I got put up on the trees at the bottom of the garden about two weeks ago. I'm hoping they take up residence.
I'm just having a cuppa (how do you get that pic to work?) before starting on the heavier stuff[
