Council house entitlement!!!

Please don't think that I am here to have a dig at Eli, I'm not. I simply don't believe she should be provided with a larger house so the extra room can stay empty for approximately 85% of the time (used 2 nights out of 14), as I believe there are more worthy causes. Of course I feel sorry for her partner's son as he has to sleep on the settee when he comes to stay; however life isn't perfect and sometimes we just have to get on with it.
My point is that just because some people have indicated that she shouldn't be entitled to a larger house doesn't mean that this is an unfriendly forum. All I would say is that please take into account the postings from Eli before lambasting others for their 'unfriendly' remarks.
I really hope you get things sorted Eli...
YEs and why did I reply it such tones, maybe because of the !!!!!! i was getting, dont you think????
If i had not had those nasty remarks from others, i would have not replied in the way i did.
And opinions like ars3holes was tongue in cheek since it was followed by lots of smiles, i was trying to make a joke out of the whole thing.
And as fair as im concerned there was no need for the nasty stuff, really none at all, but hey ho!0 -
She asked a question thats all.
I got balled out in the arms & accused of being rude, because I missed out a comma:rolleyes:
Without the comma it "could" have been read as rude, with the comma not rude.
It was rapidly "assumed" as being rude & I was "told off" for it.
Before I had a chance to explain myself - leaving aside for the moment should I have had to explain myself at all, when it WASN'T rude:rolleyes:
Well, in the time it took me to explain about the sentence structor they were steaming in, hitting the THANKS button for the person that accused me of being rude. The thanks count was practically going up by the second, all getting a dig in.
I bit back, as the OP here has done, its very easy to when multiples of people pile in with their cr4p & 2p worth.
I was then hung, drawn & quartered for daring to defend myself & not take the abuse.
It got so bad, it actually made me cry. Even after I begged people to stop & said how upset I was, two more people still piled in for a boot. A host of others then posted defending themselves saying it was my fault for A) not explaining quick enough &
daring to fight back.
I WILL NOT POST IN THE ARMS ANYMORE, there are some very strange & nasty people in there & in other parts of MSE.
Are they sad people who were bullied at school & sit behind a computer screen being mean, nasty & sarcastic to people to get "revenge".
Eli, s0d em, load of b1tches & stirrers.
Take no notice of little hitlers who get their kicks out of abusing, bulling & ganging up on people on an internet forum.
Aww MrsE.
I never saw any of what you have just described.
I am really sorry to hear that something made you cry, because I like you.
I did wonder where you had got to as I enjoyed our debate.

To be honest, I really miss it, sometimes there are some really interesting threads & then I realise they are in "the arms" so all I can do is view, so I do miss it.
But Its not worth the nastyness, one of them carried on even after the others had stopped, hours later, trying to drag it up again & even the board mod got involved & said no more. I asked them to lock or delete it, but they wouldn't.
Yet when the lady who posted about the cat she took in & looked after got abuse, they did lock or delete it as she was also brought to tears.
Now here is another one going the same way.
THIS IS NOT BANTER, this is people sitting here tearing into another human being for a bit of spite or entertainment, it makes me angry.
Thank you pipkin, you are a true lady as my old granny would have said:D0 -
But still, no need to stoop to anyone else's level - moral high ground, two wrongs don't make a right and all that jazz, eh?YEs and why did I reply it such tones, maybe because of the !!!!!! i was getting, dont you think????

I'm totally with epsilondraconis and think we've both posted along the same lines here. Essentially, I don't think you should be entitled to a larger living space as it could potentially mean that someone else in a worse situation had to go without, just so that you could have another room that would be empty for a large percentage of the time. Have you considered any of the options I suggested in my previous post to look at how you could increase your income and therefore be able to afford to rent privately or ultimately to buy your own house?0 -
Surely a sleepover at dads and sharing a room could be dressed up as a fun thing, I used to love sleeping over on floor mattress with cousins and step-siblings and walkie talkiesHi Eli.
Could it be possible to put up a stud wall [I think that's what it's called] in your DDs room to make a seperate area for your partner's DS. It would make your DDs room smaller, but it would also give your step DS some privacy, and as the wall is not a permanent fixture, it could easily be removed once you managed to secure a bigger property?

You could change your user ID MrsE, then come and chat to me, as it was nice to have a respectful sparring partner, and our last discussion was what debating is all about - different opinions being shared without malice.
Sorry for going off topic Eli

I think the rudness & agression shown on here because you dared to ask a question is disgusting.
This forum seems to be getting nastier & nastier.
Many of us have been savaged on MSE, I really do dispair if thats how these bullies get their kicks. Take no notice, as was said to me, it shows more about them than it does about you.
I agree, I think the time is coming for this forum to be properly moderated by moderators with the power to suspend / ban the bullies and racists who seem to jump into innocuous posts with hate and spite.
I think it's either stricter control by proper mods or total anarchy and the eventual death of this site as all the normal people leave.====0 -

I have two DDs.
When their best friend comes to stay for a sleepover, he has to sleep in the livingroom, but they have the walkie talkies and the running up and downstairs and all the other things that go with a sleepover, so it can be fun, I agree.
Eli, what's the age difference between the two children?

I wasnt saying i want this, i want that, i was just asking if i would get another room cus of his son, all i wanted was a no, but never mind.
least i know that now and next option will be private rent,
Do you think i will get a medal for giving a council place up?
