    I have two DDs.

When their best friend comes to stay for a sleepover, he has to sleep in the livingroom, but they have the walkie talkies and the running up and downstairs and all the other things that go with a sleepover, so it can be fun, I agree.

Eli, what's the age difference between the two children?

    Pipkin xxxx

My daughters 13 in May and going through *that* stage where everything ends in errrrrr you know alrighter, oker!!!
And hes a sweet 8 year old that has not been corrupted by secondary school!!
Would never think there was such a HUGE gap between 8 and 12!!!

I agree, I think the time is coming for this forum to be properly moderated by moderators with the power to suspend / ban the bullies and racists who seem to jump into innocuous posts with hate and spite.

I think it's either stricter control by proper mods or total anarchy and the eventual death of this site as all the normal people leave.

If they were banned or suspended they would probably just rejoin under another name.
But there do seem to be a lot of regulars who form their little gangs & bully people & no one or nothing seems to curtail them.
There also seems to be people starting nasty threads simply to cause trouble & saying nasty things. Tbennett100 (or whatever) spring to mind, saying horrible things & getting away with it.

I wasnt saying i want this, i want that, i was just asking if i would get another room cus of his son, all i wanted was a no, but never mind.
least i know that now and next option will be private rent,
Do you think i will get a medal for giving a council place up?
yeah i know need a chest to pin it on :rotfl:

    ASK, you never know.
Most councils are under huge pressure & wouldn't dream of it, but you never know.
As for any rights to it, I would say no, but I don't work in council housing:D

You could try & exchange for a bigger place.

Will you get a medal? No those "helpful" people who responded to your post so "nicely" will be too busy giving some other poor bu66er a kicking:rolleyes:

    Good luck anyway:beer:

The only thing I would say is that I don't think anyone has the right to call other people 'morons' - also I think it would be better if we didn't use words like '!!!!!!' or 'ar3eholes' on this forum.

I am genuinely not taking sides here. I firmly believe that there are people out there who gets kicks by stirring and abusing people with their posts. I just feel it would be best not to stoop to their level by firing it back at them.

In some cases people really do overstep the mark with their comments; however sometimes because people don't like the answers they have received we end up with polarised responses claiming that someone has been insulting.

Not to sure where I'm going with this now - I guess I'm just rambling.

MrsE - there are a lot of good people on this forum. I'm sorry to hear that you were made to cry on a previous occasion - sometimes people can be very cruel.

Perhaps its time to send out a big hug to all those good people in MSE land - nighty nighty everyone wherever you are...
  • Oh Dear we are all getting rather worked up on this thread arnt we, I dont think you would be able to get a 3 bed house just because your stepson stays 3 nights out of 14, so i think you will just have to make do until you can move privately to a bigger home,

ally, you worry me, all your "children" bar one have grown up and should be standing on their own two feet not waiting for mummy to get them their own rooms in a council house, I think you should tell them to find a place of their own.

Council houses are for people who cannot afford to buy their own homes and I dont think we (home owners) should look down our noses at them, I was brought up in a council house and if we hadnt had that then we would have ended up on the streets, i now own my own home and have done since the age of 19 but I do not think that makes me any better than someone who lives in a council house, so stop being such !!!!!!......

I had that recently, the lady with the cat also posted that she was in tears (she said that to her friends on a depression thread) & now this lady was starting to take an onslaught, its just not right.

Are we susposed to take abuse & not talk back, like mice:confused::confused:
Thats what I mean about the all powerful gang of "regulars" who say what they bl00dly well like.
I said I felt like a punch bag & I did, I was told off for saying that & told I was being over dramatic or something.

But there REALLY does seem to be loads of people who come on here to vent & talk down to people AND people who come on to start trouble making threads.

NO, enough of taking abuse & not saying boo back.

I'm sorry for hijacking your thread, I was just so annoyed when i saw it starting again.
Me first, then the cat lady & now you, it was like the last straw, LOL.
I'm going to get off my soap box now & go to bed, as I need to get up early.

    Goodnight
  • Hi Eli,

you'll need to check with your council for a definite answer, because different councils may calculate things slightly differently.

But the great likelihood is that you won't be considered to need a 3 bed - your step-son is with you every other weekend, 2 nights out of 14, is that right? He probably wouldn't be counted as needing his own bedroom.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
  • Hi Eli,

I can't believe the amount of abuse you've taken just by asking a simple question, this place just gets worse. All I would say is give your council housing dept a call tomorrow and ask the question, you've nothing to lose. One things guaranteed they certainly won't be rude and bitter like several posters on here.
