I'm a retro girl and I have a Typhoon set in cream. The dial is very clear and easy to read. Bit pricy though.0

I have a set of Lidls digital scales which were cheap but do the job well.0

Hi, Over the years I have tried many kinds of scales, including expensive electronic ones. The ones I have at the momment are Typhoon ones in cream, retro in style and have never needed to be re- adjusted. The dial is clear, they measure in imperial as well as grams. I liked them so much I bought my daughter a black pair. She is young and trendy, loves cooking and was delighted with the pressie.:jThe time will come when you have everything but time.0

I got these http://www.cookwarebycsn.co.uk/asp/show_detail.asp?sku=TSH1018&refid=GBUK331-TSH1018
slimline electric ones in TKMaxx for £12 they had blue and yellow I love them as they take up hardly any room. the only annoying thing is they switch off after a while and it re-tares them when you switch them back on.0 -
I have a slightly older version of these: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8423902/c_1/1|category_root|Kitchen+and+laundry|14418476/Trail/searchtext%3ESCALES.htm
I like them because 1) they weigh up to 5 kg / 11 lb, 2) they are mechanical so no fancy digital stuff to go wrong, and 3) they show lb as well as kg (can't get my head around metric weights).
HTHIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Hi all
I do not own a set of scales and would like to know what people here think are the best. Ideally I would like the old fashioned ones with weights, second hand would be great but don't know where to start looking (antique markets perhaps?) but even a nice modern set would do.
Any suggestions gratefully received. Thank you! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
