Here is an update on the hats so far - if any more have been completed I will add them as we go along! The first figure under a name is the Save the Chidren/Preemie hats and the second one is the Innocent Smoothie hats!

Hi everyone - just updating the total to include Mrs Moneypenny's two more hats! I have had visitors this afternoon but hope to get stuck into some more knitting tonight.

    Thanks, Hester, for your squares!

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.

Oh no! Missed the bit that says not to make baby hats in white! Umm...anyone want a couple of preemy/newborn hats - both white, one with a blue trim, one with a pink one?

    Doh!

Don't panic C1aire!!! Loving hands will distribute white coloured hats to hospitals around the UK for the premature/ill babies. Think of it as good practice ;)

Hi just found this thread, so what are we knitting/crochet as I would love to join in. Do you still need 8" squares knit or crochet and do you need hats for prem babies also are we doing blankets for prem babies? Lots of questions I know but I do want to help.

Mioliere, I'll probably be too late for this challenge, you're all going so well, but I will knit some preemie hats as soon as I can:D I have been being very selfish:o As I had to buy wool especially for the smoky blankies, I've been crocheting 4 -round granny squares with the leftovers ( of which there's loads:rotfl: ) to make a blankie for me. I think it will be a lovely memento of a time when we all wanted to do something to show love and support for a friend we've never met. Thank you for organising us so well.:T I hadn't picked up needles or hook in years. Now I don't want to put it down:D I actually think my poor arthritic fingers are benefiting from the exercise;)

Thats a lovely thought CM. :A

You just have a restie dear, falling asleep when making the bed is a sure sign of doing too much crocheting. Glad the old fingers are having a good workout though. Save you a fortune on gym fees. :D
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
