Lainey i posted 4 more smoky squares off to you yesterday, if you let me know when you are hoping to post off the blanket and book, i'll try and get a note/card sent with my next squares if i'm in time. if not ill pm you a note if thats ok.

reason the squares took a while to get into the post was if i'd just used the smaller envelope and made it thicker it would have cost £1 more to post as it changed from a packet to a parcel so postie told me to use a bigger envelope and lay them flatter so the cheaper stamp would work. I hate this new system it just designed to rip us off :mad:

I'm flattered you think ive done 4 squares for HTA, i wish i was as industrious as that!!!

Please change it to read ONE square for HTA and none for the others as i am yet to get some time and wool to keep going.

Sorry to confuse but i would hate to see the numbers short because ive not sent the squares you were expecting!!

I was amazed how early some of you were up this morning. I woke and could not get back to sleep about 6 am so came down for an hour to do some crochet and to my surprise there were some of you up and about. I was able to go back to bed at 7 and got another2 hours sleep. But I did manage another HTA square this morning!

I have finally cracked how to make a circle in the midddle of crochet and end up in a square. I will have one more go to make sure and then if anyone wants to have a go I will post how I do it. I can't follow other people's patterns especially american ones, so made up my own version, which may or may not be the same as one of them!

Dee - I'm sure plenty of people would be glad of your British instructions. The Americans do do things differently from us! It might be an idea to start a 'tips' file on Yahoo for things like that - people have different ways of doing things, short cuts and so on, so others would benefit from this.

Well done on the updates - I hope to post a new update to Lainey to see if her count matches mine and then we'll post the 'official' one. It's become very confusing - with me, that's not difficult!

Oh dear, I've been rather bad at getting to my crochet hook lately. I've got 3 squares at home for HTA and I as tomorrow is my day off, I will be on the sofa with daytime telly, the cats and my crochet so I can get cracking on the ones for Smokey/Smokelets. Please could someone update me as I'm at work and should really be doing something else...
