Oh dont worry Mioliere, i dont feel too inadequate, just a little, its a normal state of affairs with me. All i do is remember i work two jobs, give up two evenings a week to teach at a swimming club, one to help my sister do her books and one evening is mine to enjoy (usually dancing) and one evening and Sunday to catch up on the housework. I used to think when the kids were off my hands i would be able to organise myself better ... HA!!! i was better organised then as i had to be. I think i can justify to myself taking a while to do a few squares.

I have found the knitting quite theraputic! I'm glad ive joined this thread regardless.

I did spot the guidelines afterwards, but when i logged on for the address i saw the size of the thread hence got the square off and will read properly later.

I will send the first 8 off to you today lainey, soyou will have them ready for your day off. I need to press the last lot, so will send them when done.

hi all, just having a quick peek on my lunchbreak.
tell you what........I'm more than happy to sew up the smokelets blankies too. It makes up for my not having done as many sqaures as I'd have liked to have done iyswim! and before anyone starts...no it's not too much work for me, you guys have all put mammoth efforts into this too!!!
just keep sending me the squares, when we have enough for all the blankies i'll sort them into girly colours and boyish colours and arrange them into three blankies & then try and post a pic of them arranged out on the floor so that we're all happy with them.
how does that sound? It just seems easier to have one central place to send them rather than the squares going all over the place and one person not having enough for a blankie and another having too many and then sending them over to the other person etc etc (phew!) i hope that makes some sense.lol!!

Lainey - are you sure you're not an angel? You are so generous with your time but I am so worried that you are taking too much on! Please let me know if it's too much for you, promise me!

I am just about to do an update using your last one, Lainey; I see that Naomi has put two databases on the Wooligans group for updating the numbers so far of each blanket. Shall I put the latest totals in there now or does anyone think we should each update the total as and when we finish a square. Let me know what you think, everyone!

Well, I think I have now found some spare time this afternoon to do some more squares. I have nearly finished a knitted one and I hope to start a crochet one. I've been trying to get more than half an hour to knit all over the weekend but it seems to have eluded me!

I'll do an update now and then update my sig.

Oh, and at the last count, we had 21 new members and 3 photos uploaded to the Wooligans group! That's an amazing response. In fact, I will put the link to it on every page of the thread from now on so that any newbies will find us too! Here's the link for today!

SMOKELETS' BLANKETS: 3 at 35 squares each, 105 in total. Squares so far: 26!

We can't have very long sigs now so I shall update this bit on the post and just carry the running totals in my sig followed by squares still needed.

I have been hunting high and low for some Black DK wool as i want to use it to put the wooligans blankets together as i think it will be great with the warm colours, i have 3 black sacks of wool but no black and cannot buy it anywhere, if anyone has any spare that they could donate for this blanket i would be so grateful. i will ask my lot as well.

Naomi - I found some black boucle type wool, not plain DK, but it's a DK ply and there's about 100gms. I can get it in the post for you if it's any good? I looked for some black DK some time ago for embroidering eyes on knitted dolls but it doesn't seem to be in the shops these days. I ended up using black embroidery thread. Anyway, if the boucle is any good, let me know!
