morning all,
Only got up at 8.30, so compared to some of you had a good lay in, we had a lovely meal last night, I had fillet of pork wrapped in spinach and panchetta, and OH had fillet of lamb with apricots and cumin, both were delish, we also had a lovely bottle of red, cheese and crackers and a glass of port, (which I discovered I did not like, so OH had both), came home a bit wobbly, but a great night, we are lucky to gave such a great pub 5 minutes walk from home.
Tru Happy Birthday, have a good one, when pwp comes round answer the door in your coat and say you were just going out. x
Smokey thanks for the update, hope things continue to improve xx
Martyn, glad you are feeling better today, your dinner sounded fab
,keep us posted xx
Catowen your poor dd, hope she feels better soon, best to keep her with you, give her lots of hugs xx
Not sure what we are doing today, maybe go for a walk, need to pick DD up from her sleepover later, I don't like it when she is not here, I miss her too much
,
meatballs for tea, never had them before as I dont like herbs too much, but OH loves them, so am going to try.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
happy birthday Tru - hope it's a good one
dd11 and I are not talking - she microwaved fish fingers this morning on a metal dish  - seems ok but when I told her off she backchatted. she's sitting on the sofa giving me evils while texting her dad about what a monster I am (he pretty much knows that anyway)
If we make it up before closing time we will cycle to the Town of Many Charity Shops to replenish my wardrobe and present cupboard. Other than that the usual weekend chores of flyladying, gardening and baking beckon. Also need to phonethe caravan park we are going to next month to make sure it's not floated away, change some of the people that are going and try to get them to allocate me and dbro caravans togetherI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
A quick hello and (((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) this morning, thanks Smokey for the update last night...........................
I am off to the lottie, that slave driver called my OH insists we need to go....all I want to do is rest my weary bones after yesterdays little efforts, my bones ache and I have a massive bruise on my leg where I caught it on the low window cill............tripped over a cord................
Oh well better go, he is standing in the hall with his coat and hat on, think he wants me to go somewhere.............................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Right - here is a very daft-feeling Mioliere! I've been telling knitters and crocheters to do the squares for our blanket at 8 x 8 INCHES! However, STRESSEDOUT has asked if they should be 8 x 8 CMS! And I'm afraid I don't actually know! I think it may have been DONNY-GAL who said she had seen one done for WaterAid in 8 x 8 inch squares but, knowing me, I may have read it too quickly and just assumed, me being a non-metric girly, that it was inches not cms. I would be very very grateful if whoever it was would let me know and, meanwhile, please hold your needles and hooks at the ready - I'll let you know asap! Meanwhile, thanks so much for a fantastic response.
MARTYN - I'm glad you have a picture of a favourite spot. Keep it handy to remind yourself that what you are going through right now will lead you back there! You definitely sound more positive which I find really heartwarming.
TRU - Have a fantastic birthday!:bdaycake: :j :j
Anyway, will call back later!

Good morning everyone,
Happy Birthday tru! Hope you have a good one. As for PWP dropping round whenever they like.... could you keep a coat close to hand so that when you see them you can grab it, answer the door and say "oh, what a pity you've turned up now, I'm just heading out!"? Or maybe just be honest in a diplomatic way by saying it's lovely to see them but you don't really have time at the moment for a long chat. Could they maybe call to arrange time when you can meet?
Smoky ((((hugs)))) others have said what I mean much better.
Martyn good to see you upbeat today. Oban is my Dad's favourite place in the UK. You have no ties keeping you where you are so you can certainly aim to relocate to somewhere you know you will be happy. (As a Scot whose children really only know Glasgow and Lanarkshire, I'm taking them to Islay in July to give them a taste of the Islands. Can't wait.)
stefjb I managed to microwave one of my diabetes tablets in it's little foil packet last week.
 Your DD has the excuse that she's only 11 - I've none.
Hope you manage to make up and replenish your wardrobe.
catowen ((((hugs)))) to your poor DD. Hope she starts to feel better soon.
redruby I would have gladly helped you with the port.
kyle when we visited my family in Scotland during the holidays, my DD used to watch all the kiddies' programmes in Gaelic. She always seemed to know exactly what was going on.
Oooh, I've wittered on a bit, haven't I? Right, well, WM is just about finished, dishes are washed, living room has been tidied but needs to be vacuumed as does the staircase. Need to get the BM on and will get the ironing board out in time for the rugby.
Made a rubbish curry yesterday (from a jar
so serves me right) but can't bear to see food going to waste so will try and choke the rest down for dinner today.
Off to renew my car tax online. First time I have done this so I hope it works.
Have a sunny Saturday one and all. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

5am must be the thing today, thats when our alarm went off coz oh had to be at work for 7, he goes on the train which is really weirdly timed for people starting on the hour. Fortunatly with no little ones to worry about after I walked him to station ( I'm sad I know it, but I won't see him again til 10pm
)I could go bad to bed when I got home. No sleep but a decent rest which has made me feel more awake.
My plans for the day are, empty dishwasher, put on a coupla loads of laundry and vaccum. I'm at work at half four so I've got a while, won't have if I stay sat in front of the tv though.
Kyle - if you think thats deranged I watch dvds in english with subtitles, dunno why, just a habit I guess.:cheesy:When life gives you lemons......Grab a bottle of tequila and call me over!

Good morning everyone. It is a nice bright day here with a bit of wind so hopefully washing will dry. Had a good evening last night as our youngest son (he is 25) came up for dinner and we watched Ratatouille on DVD. He has been going through very difficult times which I won't bore you with but because he has been so down it has affected us terribly. It is so hard to see someone you love hurting and not be able to do anything.
On a more positive note I am off to make butternut squash soup for lunch then going to be very lasy and watch the qualifying for the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
We are out tonight for dinner with friends tonight which should be good.
Everyone have a good day.0 -

Morning everyone :hello: :hello:
Happy Birthday Tru :bdaycake:
Re your pwp issue when they knock open the door and before they get a chance to start say "Im so glad youve popped round - ive got so many problems I need to discuss with , like this one what do you think........"then keep talking at 100 miles an hour until they get bored and go:rotfl: and if that doesnt work then go for the biggy. Interuppt them and say with a big smile on your face "Look Im really sorry but you seem to be mistaking me for someone who cares about you piddling little problems -please go away and find the right person":o
