Afternoon all,
Slept very late to-day, put up the pole for the back door curtain and made dinner and spent the rest of the time on here. Will make the curtain to-night so that we will be ready to go to-morrow with blocking out the lamppost outside on the road. Bought a remnant the other day in almost the same colour ways to cover stools which can go under the table when not in use...know that there are two old milking stools which would suit fine, just have to give them a good scrub and paint before upholstering the tops...no need to distress to make them shabby chic....they are probably the best part of 100 years old so well distressed.
Ham and cabbage for dinner to-day, I have had mine and enjoyed it immensely, like cabbage best when I cook it myself, OH cooks it to a nasty slime which I hate.
Happy birthday tru:bdaycake:
Hugs to all who need one for whatever reason
Congratulations Benthosboy on taking the advice given here...you sound so positive now!
Glad that the squares are in inches...cms would be very small 8x8...have another cardigan almost finished for Aoife, will do one then and be in touch Mioliere.
Have a good weekend all

Thanks, MEANMARIE, but there's plenty of time. I don't want anyone panicking or beating themselves up over it. I must apologise, also, for what went through my mind when you said you have 'put the pole up'! I'm afraid I pictured you pole-dancing! I think it's HARDUP HESTER'S influence!

Hi everyone. Hugs to those who need them, and happy birthday Tru. I am sitting here watching bf knocking off all the plaster on the living room wall  to prepare for our woodburning stove that we are getting next weekend. Woo Hoo!! Aparently there is a hole bigenough to put a range cooker in it!!! Hope it looks pretty when its finished. So not much to do just now but kater I will need to sweep all the floor and hoover to tidy up all the mess. Apart from thatt house is quite presentable thanks to flylady so having a lazy sat and watching dvds later on after I have made dinner. Hope everyone has a good day, x
ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh a wood burner.....brings back memories. We had one put in a house we bought way back in the 1980's, when they bought it, they put it down in the middle of the sitting room, I looked at it and wondered what the heck I had done!!!! once it was in the fireplace we had an ingle nook built round it, I wish I had it now, it was fabulous, heated a 4 bedroomed house no probs and we always had loads of hot water, I envy you so much................................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
What started out as a good day went down hill. I'm fed up. Waited in all day for the person that wanted 11 sturdy cardboard boxes as they are moving, they never turned up or contacted me. How long does it take to email or phone? Our DD rang and said she thinks she has broken her foot, slipped taking her Labs out for a walk, DH had to stay at home incase the boxes were collected (couldn't leave outside as it is p!!!-istently raining) whilst I took DD to hosp. The foot is not broken but the 2 small toes are and there is nothing they can do. Our Son in law to be took my DHs van for a M O T. yup, it failed. So I missed the rugby watching party, wasted all day waiting for inconsiderate people and spent over an hour in casualty and guess who has offered to walk the dogs tomorrow?? Yup muggins! however, I love my kids to bits and would crawl over broken glass for them. Isn't thats what Mums are for?
P.S. Is it time to part a bottle from it's cork? actually it's a screw top but doesn't read right
Thanks all0 -

I'm back after a great week in Cornwall, not caught up yet but wanted to say I was thinking of you smokybabe all last week while I was away and had to check how things were for your DH straight away. I hope you get some positive news soon (((hugs))) to you all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Evening all
Have had a very productive day, even cleaned DS fish tank out only to discover it needed a new pump. Thought it would cost £30 but was only £8.
Tea was meatballs and spaghetti. House is now clean, I was mortified by the dust!
Off to knit. Fancy a blackberry vodka and cheese and oatcakes. Will be in bed soon, am shattered.
Have a good night all.

Does anyone have any cheap wool sources..?? I can't just do one square.. :rotfl:
Hi Morwenna - I have recently got some wool from Aldi, Lidl have it also from time to time, and I have also seen wool in Wilkinson's and Poundlands (various names for these shops)
Just noticed the squares thread has been closed, so do not know if this is a goer or not atm.
Cheers
