I'm so fed up with Ebay and the fact they wont look after us. It seems that dodgy buyers have more protection than us trustworthy sellers.
I advertised a gold plated bracelet as being made of silver but gold plated. The buyer asked me to post a 'buy it now' price which I did and he bought, now he's changed his mind, wont pay me, left me negative feedback saying i'm a con artist! I've complained to Ebay and given him a strike, spoken to his other unfortunate 'clients' and they too have been ripped off by him. Ebay say they wont retract his comment as it's his personal view of me..... yet it's untrue - can't we start a campaign so that Ebay will set up and listen to us and help protect us too!!!!0 -
Tell her she is talking pants:pas I use loads of Clarins and they are perfumed especially the Clarins Multi-Active Jour,Multi Active Day Cream, which is quite highly scented.
And never had a Clarins in cellophane ever, box yes ,cellophane no hth.
Oh and if she had ever worked with Clarins why does she not go in and get loads of samples etc,her face is burning ,yes maybe because she is telling LIES!!Just back into comping past few months to help me get over rubbish in life.... won Hotpoint fridge freezer, soda stream0 -
And its up to her to prove to paypal its a fake! She would need some proof from Clarins to say so, and she isnt going to get it.0

Did you go through the full NPB process? If he failed to respond to this, the rating should be removed. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Clarins products are perfumed.
I believe.that, if it gets to the dispute stage, it is the responsibility of the accuser to prove that the product is fake. Don't they have to do such things as to get a written confirmation from a reliable source (ie a Clarins retailer or distributor, or local Trading Standards people)? They then have to return it to the seller, by trackable means, - but I've now heard that Paypal are asking for some fakes to be sent to them, so that they can be put out of circulation.
My advice is this: take a sample bottle/tube to your local Clarins Counter. Ask their opinion on its authenticity - smell, texture, bottle etc. Get the name of the assistant for future reference. If it's OK, then you have some ammunition. If it's not ...... that's another story!
Good luck

Thanks. I know it's stupid, but I actually felt quite upset when I got the email yesteday.:o I don't think the buyer is trying to be particularly horrible, or is a serial stealer as they have good feedback, but I do think they have simply changed their mind and see nothing wrong with trying to make me pick up the costs.
Thanks everyone for your support, I feel better now - it felt like a personal attack on me yesterday - but you guys have made me see it's not at all.:D:D:DSave me from spending...

Aww hun, its not personal. She probably tries it on with everyone. respond to her, calmly and factually telling her that you only sell genuine Clarins products and that not all their creams are cellophaned or unperfumed.
Point out that if she had simply changed her mind you would have refunded the product if returned to you unopened, but as she has opened and used some of the cream you can no longer do that.0 -
If you are 100% sure it is real then let her go to a paypal dispute. I did the same recently on a buyer that I am sure is scamming me and whilst I still expect to lose the dispute I didn't want to make it easy on the buyer. Yes I have my first ever neg from this buyer..but actually that hasn't felt to bad as I thought it would, and strangely enough despite paypal saying they would decide in 10 days it is now heading into week three and they still haven't told me that I need to refund the buyer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks - have done this and so far no response, maybe it's scared 'em off. Could always send them a link to this thread for good measure. LOL;)Save me from spending...

[FONT=arial,sans-serif]Spoke too soon, here's their latest email:
well we will have to agree to disagree.now you have your money you obviously do not care.I have just got back from Debenhams clarins counter, and the consultant agreed with me that the cream looks and smells completly different.I hope you enjoy my money,i have had to buy another cream today,so all in all a £27 cream has cost me nearly £60.As you can imagine i am very dissapointed and have never had an ebay problem like this,as most people try to rectify problems, were as you have basically got your money and said 'tuff'. A very unpleasant experience...
They're blatantly lying. Why would someone who buys their make-up etc in ebay suddenly go to Debenhams? Should I just ignore this last message - i think they know they're in the wrong and are trying to make me feel bad. But I know 10000000% there was nothing wrong with the cream. uuugh!!! I could really do without this - I've got enough problems as it is.
